ANTHONY Morabito's latest soft-tissue injury could spell the end of his Fremantle career after he lasted just 20 minutes before straining his right quad in the WAFL on Sunday.
Morabito's future with Fremantle was already in doubt, given he is coming out of contract after being delisted and redrafted as a rookie at the end of last season.
He has played 14 games in the WAFL this season but failed to crack it for an AFL berth. He has managed just three AFL games since the end of 2010, having had his left knee reconstructed three times.

Morabito suffered a suspected right quad injury in the act of kicking only 20 minutes into the opening term on Sunday.
He had some treatment on the bench and did some fitness testing and kicking but he did not return after quarter-time and had ice applied to his upper right quad.
Peel Thunder coach Cam Shepherd told Perth radio station SportFM 91.3 on Monday that he could miss two to three weeks.
"We'll find out a little bit more about him today or tomorrow after some scans but he's probably likely to be a 14- or 21-day injury," Shepherd said.
Peel plays a sudden-death semi-final against West Perth this Sunday. Morabito could be a chance for either the preliminary or Grand Final, should Peel advance that far, depending on the severity of the injury.
Beyond that, Morabito's future at AFL level looks bleak. He had an outstanding pre-season last summer after not playing a single game the previous year due to ongoing soreness in his thrice-reconstructed left knee.
But a hamstring tear in February set his preparation back and he battled to rediscover his best form. He suffered further minor hamstring and ankle injuries later in the year before Sunday's blow.
Morabito, 24, has played 26 matches for the Dockers since he was drafted in 2009. He had a stunning debut year, playing 23 games in 2010 before he was struck down by the knee injuries. He returned to AFL level in 2014, playing three games.
It is understood the Peel Thunder product was very keen to be a part of the club's finals campaign. The win over East Perth was Peel's first finals victory at WAFL level since joining the competition in 1997.
Of the 16 other Fremantle-listed players to feature on Sunday, Matt de Boer starred with 31 touches and 10 tackles and Shane Yarran kicked three goals in the 49-point win.
