CARLTON forward Matthew Wright has signed a one-year contract extension after an impressive first season with the Blues.
Wright joined the Blues 12 months ago on a one-year deal as a delisted free agent and stepped straight in to be the club's leading goalkicker with 22 goals.
After 94 games with Adelaide, Wright played every game in 2016 and said it was great to play on with the club that gave him a second chance after he was delisted.

"I just tried to make the most of my opportunities this season and my teammates and coaches have been really supportive," he said.
"The culture we are establishing at the club is really strong and I’m excited about another year with this group."
Carlton head of football Andrew McKay said Wright had made an immediate impact with the Blues and impressed with his professionalism.
"Not only is Matt a high-quality person, he demonstrates really strong leadership qualities which will continue to be important for our younger players next season," McKay said.
