WESTERN Bulldogs acting captain Easton Wood will miss Saturday's away clash against Port Adelaide to nurse a minor hamstring strain.
The 26-year-old was a late withdrawal from Sunday's eight-point win over West Coast after injuring his hamstring in the lead-up to the match.
Bulldogs football manager Graham Lowe said Wood had been ruled out to face the Power at Adelaide Oval.
"'Woody' got a low grade hamstring injury at training on Saturday (so) he won't be available to play this weekend," Lowe told westernbulldogs.com.au on Monday evening.
"We're going to assess him next week with a view to his availability for round 13 (against Geelong)."
Bulldogs youngster Toby McLean will wear a protective moon boot for up to a month after hurting his right ankle in a second-quarter tackle against West Coast.
Scans on Monday confirmed the 20-year-old, who sat out the rest of the game after being assisted off the ground, had suffered a midfoot sprain.
"We're going to manage him conservatively (and) he's going to be in a moon boot for three to four weeks," Lowe said, with an exact return date to be determined in the coming weeks.
Meanwhile, Lowe said midfielder Clay Smith had been medically cleared to return via the VFL this Saturday after overcoming his third knee reconstruction, adding "it's great to welcome Clay back".
The 23-year-old has not played since reinjuring his knee against St Kilda in round six last year.
