GREATER Western Sydney will host its first ever preliminary final in the twilight slot on Saturday week.
The game at Spotless Stadium is scheduled for 5.15pm AEST, with the Giants set to face the winner of Friday night's clash between Hawthorn and the Western Bulldogs.
The AFL said in a statement the time-slot would allow for more people to watch the match, both at the game and on television.

"(It will) maximise the television audience outside of NSW who can watch the game," the AFL said.
The AFL also said the time slot would enable the visiting team to return to Melbourne on Saturday night.
Geelong will host either the Sydney Swans or Adelaide in the other preliminary final at the MCG at 7.50pm on Friday, September 23.
