RUCKMEN Dawson Simpson and Tom Downie have been re-signed by Greater Western Sydney as back-up for star big man Shane Mumford.
Former Cats ruckman Simpson did not play a senior game with the Giants in 2016 after being picked up as a delisted free agent but the club decided to stick with the popular big man for at least one more season.
Downie has shown great promise as a ruck who can go forward since being picked at No.56 in the 2011 NAB AFL Draft, but has struggled to find a spot behind Mumford and exciting forward Rory Lobb.
He signed on for two more seasons, as did experienced defender Tim Mohr who has played 45 games for the Giants, including two in 2016 after missing 2014 and 2015 recovering from a knee injury.
The three signatures were announced as the club confirmed Jake Barrett had been delisted, although the Giants will look at re-listing the midfielder, who celebrates his 21st birthday on Wednesday.
Sam Reid and Daniel Lloyd were also retained on the club's rookie list.
The six players, Barrett, Simpson, Downie, Mohr, Reid and Lloyd played in the Giants' NEAFL premiership.
GWS finished fourth in 2016 losing the preliminary final by six points but added Richmond veteran Brett Deledio to its list and heads to the NAB AFL Draft with selection No.2.
