WEST Coast ruckman Scott Lycett's knee issue will be carefully managed during the week off, but he should be fine to face the Western Bulldogs in the elimination final next Thursday night at Domain Stadium.
Lycett did not train on Tuesday and was sent for scans to assess his left knee.
He is battling a sore posterior cruciate ligament after repeated knocks over the last few weeks.
Lycett was forced from the ground early in last Friday's win over Adelaide but returned to play out the game.
Coach Adam Simpson told 6PR on Monday night that the injury was not getting any worse by playing, but Lycett needed to be monitored.
"It gets knocked and gets sore and he can continue, but there's probably only so many knocks you can take before it wears you out," Simpson said.
"It sort of happens, if you watch closely, probably once a game he'll get a knock on it, and that's just the way we're handling him at the moment.
"It's not doing any more damage. It's just an inconvenience at the moment. But the week off will do him nothing but good."
Aside from Lycett's knee issue the Eagles have a clean bill of health coming out of the win over the Crows.
They are unlikely to make any changes given the quality of the performance in Adelaide. Jonathan Giles is set to retain his place after an outstanding showing in the ruck.
The Eagles may hold several players out from East Perth's WAFL elimination final on Sunday to ensure reinforcements are available should anything happen before the clash with the Bulldogs.
But Simpson said despite the inconvenience that might cause the Eagles' WAFL-affiliate side, the club was pleased to be playing a final on a Thursday night.
"We're really happy about the Thursday night game," Simpson said.
"It's good for us to have a shorter break."
The Eagles players had a day off on Monday and will have another day off on Wednesday before training on Thursday and Saturday.
Eagles' Irish rookie Paddy Brophy has been ruled out of East Perth's finals campaign after suffering a shoulder injury that requires surgery.
Brophy, 22, has not played for West Coast in his two years on the list but he has been very impressive in his 43 WAFL games for East Perth after he was recruited as an international rookie from County Kildare.
