FREMANTLE ruckman Aaron Sandilands will not change his technique despite being reported in the NAB Challenge for rough conduct in a ruck contest.
Sandilands missed the Dockers' round one loss to the Western Bulldogs after he copped a one-match ban his hit on Richmond's Ben Griffiths during the Dockers' first NAB Challenge game of the year back in February.
Sandilands was trying to make body contact with Griffiths, who was attempting to be the third man up at a stoppage, but he bumped the Tiger in the head with his shoulder.
The Dockers elected not to contest the suspension but did seek clarity from the AFL regarding third man up situations at stoppages in the wake of the incident.
"Not at all," Sandilands said when asked if he had to change his technique ahead of this weekend's clash against the Suns.
"The incident was what it was and I've moved on and it won't change the way I go about anything."
Sandilands said it was tough to police the third man up, and it is a tactic that the Dockers use as well.
"It's a hard one," Sandilands said.
"I think that the guys that are on the rules committee will have a look at it at some stage and make the right call.
"I think it's a tactic that opposition sides use and we also use third man up ourselves. It's something that's part of the game."
Sandilands has not played any games since February 19 after the Dockers chose to rest him from the last two NAB Challenge matches in order to trial some other ruck options ahead of round one.
He said he was in good shape ahead of the clash with Gold Coast.
"It's not as if I've been injured," Sandilands said.
"I've been able to do a fair amount of work whilst not playing and we've got a lot of match simulation drills that we do so you keep the match fitness there."
The Dockers play their annual Purple Haze game on Saturday night in support of the Starlight Children's Foundation.
Sandilands presented seven-year-old leukaemia patient Lucas Snow with a Dockers jumper on Tuesday at Fremantle Oval after he was named the Dockers' 2016 Purple Haze star.
