A PAST great of the game is expected to become the game's 26th 'Legend' at the Australian Hall of Fame induction ceremony in Melbourne on Thursday night.
Up to six other former players, coaches, umpires, administrators or media members will be also inducted at the black-tie function at Crown Entertainment Centre for making "significant contributions" to the game.
Players are eligible only after they have been retired for at least three years.
The last two inductees elevated to Legend status were Barry Cable (2012) and Royce Hart (2013).
Under the rules of the Hall of Fame, only 10 per cent of inductees can be elevated to Legend status. The Hall of Fame has 257 members, with Anthony Koutoufides, Matthew Richardson, Warren Tredrea, Brad Johnson, Ern Henfry and Andrew McLeod joining the ranks last year.
