HAWTHORN defender Taylor Duryea has signed a new deal with the club, committing to two further seasons in the brown and gold.
Duryea, 24, played his 50th game earlier this year and has established himself as a regular in the club's defence.
He played in the 2014 premiership after making his AFL debut in round three, 2013.
"I’m pretty pumped to be honest," Duryea said, after signing the new deal.
"It’s been a pretty good six years for me so far – obviously a bit of success last year – so there’s no reason why I should leave now."
Duryea was taken by the Hawks with pick No. 69 in the 2009 National Draft.
He has played 15 games in 2015, averaging 17 disposals per game, including a career-high 29 against the Western Bulldogs in round three.
This follows 23 games last season.
Duryea was Hawthorn's substitute in the Grand Final, replacing Cyril Rioli in the final quarter and gathering nine touches in his short time on the field.
"He played in a premiership last year, and provides us with some grunt and rebound off half back," Hawthorn's recruiting and list manager Graham Wright told the club website.
"He’s only 24 now, so we think in the next two to four years he will continue to improve and be an important part of this team."
