HAWTHORN finals hero Will Langford has agreed to a new four-year deal with the club, adding another name to a string of re-signings for the Hawks.
The 23-year-old, who starred in last year's finals series as the Hawks won back-to-back premierships, is now tied to the club until at least the end of the 2019 season.
The son of club legend Chris Langford, who played in four flags for the Hawks, said he was rapt to extend his career at Hawthorn after first joining the club via the NSW scholarship system.
"The group here is so wonderful," he told the club's website.
"It's like a collective effort, really working towards the ultimate goal and trying to win premierships, and I've just enjoyed being a part of that environment for the past five years.
"The prospect of doing that for a little while longer is really appealing."
Langford has struggled to continue his rich form from 2014 this year, playing just 10 games in an injury-interrupted season.
His last game in the senior Hawthorn team was in round 14 and he is expected to play in the VFL this week after recovering from a knee concern.
His contract announcement follows the Hawks' signings of defender Taylor Duryea and New Zealander Kurt Heatherley this week.
Young run-and-carry midfielder Billy Hartung is soon expected to sign an extension with the club, which is likely to be a two-year deal.
