TENDAI Mzungu has signed a contract extension with Fremantle to remain at the club until the end of 2016.

The 29-year-old has been wonderful acquisition for the Dockers since being recruited as a mature-age player in the 2010 NAB AFL draft.

He has only missed a handful of games since making his debut in round nine, 2011.

Mzungu told the club's website that he had never entertained the thought of leaving Fremantle.

"Being a Perth boy, there's always a want to stay here," Mzungu said.

"It's the club that drafted me and I really think we have a bright future here at Fremantle.

"There’s was certainly no (indecision) from my front, it was a pretty straightforward process."

"A lot of players have gone on record saying what (an) elite culture and standards we have developed here over time.

"To be a part of that for another year, I'm thrilled."

The utility becomes the second player in two days to sign a contract extension with Fremantle after Zac Dawson signed a two-year deal on Monday.

Mzungu has been named in the Dockers' 29-man squad to play in the NAB Challenge clash against Melbourne at Fremantle Oval on Thursday.
