COMEBACK kid Dan Menzel has signed a one-year contract with Geelong as he looks to build on his exceptional late-season return from four knee reconstructions.
Menzel kicked four goals in round 22 to be the Cats' shining light in their 48-point loss to Collingwood.
The night capped off an amazing return to football that saw 1450 days pass between senior games.
He also played the final game against Adelaide but was subbed out midway through the third quarter with coach Chris Scott admitting nerves got the better of him as he had one eye on next year.
The Cats also re-signed injury plagued defender Cam Delaney for another season.
Delaney spent the season on the Cats' rookie list and failed to play a game as he battled a foot injury. However the club is hopeful he turned the corner late in the year and will be available in 2016.
Meanwhile dual premiership defender and fan favourite Max Rooke is departing the club after four years as a development coach.
Football manager Steve Hocking wished Rooke the best.
"Max has been a great servant of the club, both as a player and in his role as a development coach. He has made an indelible contribution and we wish Max nothing but every success in his future," Hocking said.
