SHANE Savage has extended his contract with St Kilda until the end of 2017 after playing 20 games with the Saints in 2015.
The 24-year-old cemented his spot in his second season with the club after crossing from Hawthorn at the end of 2013 in a deal that saw Ben McEvoy join the Hawks and the Saints also gain a draft pick it used on exciting midfielder Luke Dunstan.
Savage has now played 34 games with St Kilda for a career total of 90 games, while McEvoy has become a dual premiership player at Hawthorn.
St Kilda to march back to Moorabbin
Saints chief operating officer Ameet Bains told the club website that Savage had been a good contributor since joining St Kilda.
"Shane has become an important part of our team since arriving at the end of 2013," Bains said.
"We identified him as someone who met our needs given his leg speed and ball use, and he has played some important roles for us at either end of the ground."
The signing follows recent announcements that Maverick Weller and Jarryn Geary have re-signed with the club.
