After a game in the SANFL just before the club's round 11 bye, Richard Douglas and Brad Crouch could both force their way into the senior line-up for Thursday night's game against Hawthorn. Phil Walsh prefers returning Crows to play two games in the SANFL before being elevated, but with Mitch Grigg rolling his ankle during his time off, the coach's hand might be forced. Jarryd Lyons would also be right in the mix for a recall after being omitted and missing the side's round 10 win over Carlton. Lyons collected 31 possessions, 12 clearances and kicked two goals in the SANFL before the bye. - Harry Thring
The cavalry is slowly on the way back for the Lions, with a number of players in the frame for Saturday night's game against the Western Bulldogs. Fresh from the bye, midfielder Jack Redden (back) and young forward Dan McStay (finger) are likely to come straight back in, while defenders Darcy Gardiner (calf) and Ryan Harwood (concussion) are also big chances after missing the round 10 match against GWS. It then won't be too much longer before Jed Adcock (calf) and skipper Tom Rockliff (ribs) return to get the Lions' team somewhere near full strength. - Michael Whiting
Coming off the bye, Carlton must find a replacement for retired champion Chris Judd for their game against Port Adelaide at the MCG. But the Blues are likely to regain vice-captains Bryce Gibbs and Michael Jamison. Jamison has missed the past six games with a calf complaint and Gibbs has been sidelined for the past two matches with a back injury. While the Blues’ VFL team also had a bye last weekend, youngster Nick Holman has been in fine form for the Northern Blues and must be in strong contention to be elevated. Chris Yarran gathered 23 possessions and kicked a goal in the Northern Blues’ last game against Coburg on Queen’s Birthday Monday. - Howard Kotton

The Cats can't take a trick on the injury front, with veteran James Kelly set to miss with a high ankle sprain and Rhys Stanley ruled out with a foot injury. Mitch Clark will come under consideration but no risks will be taken with his calf. Kelly's absence could give Jake Kolodjashnij a chance to debut. He was rested last week but had been in solid form in the VFL. Michael Luxford played reasonably well in the VFL after getting a taste of senior football as the substitute in round 10 and would provide an X-factor. Jarrad Jansen has impressed and looks a strong, big-bodied midfielder who would hold his own at senior level. Nakia Cockatoo needs more time although a further taste against Melbourne might build his confidence. Sam Blease kicked the winning goal on Saturday in the VFL so might have a chance to run the lines against his former team, in Corey Enright's 300th game. - Peter Ryan
The loss of Shane Mumford for the season due to an ankle injury is a shocking blow for the Giants, with big men Rory Lobb and Andrew Phillips in contention to try and fill the shoes of the reigning club champion. With key defenders Joel Patfull and co-captain Phil Davis out for 6-8 weeks, Aiden Corr will get a call up, while Curtly Hampton might have to play tall against North Melbourne if he is selected. Midfielder Jack Steele starred again in the NEAFL so could finally get his long-awaited debut with Stephen Coniglio on the sidelines, while Rhys Palmer had a game-high 33 touches in his second game back in the reserves from a shoulder injury. Youngsters Paul Ahern and Caleb Marchbank might also get their first call-up.. - Adam Curley
The Hawks' match committee has some tough calls to make for the trip to face Adelaide, with a near full-strength squad to pick from. Grant Birchall (ankle) and Paul Puopolo (foot) are on the cusp of squeezing back into the side that thumped St Kilda in round 10. There's also plenty of options pushing up from the VFL, with Will Langford (calf) and Ben McEvoy (hamstring) returning from injury two weeks ago. McEvoy was among Box Hill's best players with 13 disposals, 22 hit-outs and a goal, while recruit Jonathan O'Rourke starred in a 24-disposal, three-goal best-on-ground display. Alex Woodward (23) and Jonathan Simpkin (22) again found plenty of the ball. Premiership backman Matt Spangher (hamstring) is also back on deck, but is likely to need to build his match fitness before he pushes for senior selection. – Travis King

Melbourne will be forced to make at least one change to the team that lost to St Kilda by two points, after forward Cameron Pedersen suffered a suspected broken wrist. That could open the door for Chris Dawes, who was managed through limited game time in the VFL on Saturday, to work his way back into the senior line-up for the game against Geelong. Dawes, who has been battling an ongoing calf injury, has not played senior football since round seven. If the Demons decide they need more run against the Cats, Matt Jones (35 disposals) and Rohan Bail (34) would be at the top of the list of the players who deserve to be recalled. Rookie big man Max King bagged five goals for Casey, as he continued his progression. – Ben Guthrie
The Roos are confident of regaining Nick Dal Santo (hamstring surgery) for the first time since round two, with the star midfielder having trained strongly in recent weeks. In the VFL, Luke McDonald put his hand up for a senior recall with a strong defensive performance for Werribee in its loss to Collingwood on Sunday. Aaron Mullett also continues to push for his first senior game of 2015, having racked up a team-high 28 possessions for North Ballarat in its narrow loss to Geelong's VFL team. Aaron Black enjoyed his best game for the season in the same match, and but for an inaccurate 2.5 return could have kicked a bag for the Roosters. Nonetheless, the forward's ability to take seven inside 50 marks and impress North senior development coach Gavin Brown with his work rate suggests his season could be about to turn around. Shaun Atley was solid for North Ballarat but has yet to produce the form that demands a senior recall. - Nick Bowen

The Power expect to regain the services of key defender Jackson Trengove, who has recovered from an ankle injury. Matt White has been forced out of the line-up with a torn hamstring, robbing the Power of much-needed run and carry. If Jasper Pittard or Jarman Impey are required to play higher up the ground, it could open the door for Cam O'Shea, who has been in stellar form in the SANFL. He gathered 25 possessions in the Magpies' win over West Adelaide, while Andrew Moore also managed 25 touches and kicked two goals. The speedy Kane Mitchell is another option, particularly given his 30 possessions, 13 marks, 10 tackles, seven clearances and goal in the SANFL win. - Harry Thring
After a week off to recover from their brilliant win against Fremantle, the Tigers are unlikely to make more than one change. With a settled senior line-up in top form, Richmond's VFL players will have to wait for opportunities. Half-forward Nathan Gordon was an emergency for the Tigers' last match and he was among the VFL team's best in round eight, so he is presumably next in line. Matt McDonough and Matt Arnot are also pushing hard after strong recent performances. In the forward line, Sam Lloyd and Liam McBean are available but unlikely to fit in right now. Veteran Chris Newman has recovered from a recent groin injury and could also be considered this week. – Nathan Schmook
The West Coast mix is interesting this week. There are some sore Eagles in the midst of consecutive six-day breaks. Jeremy McGovern has the biggest question mark over him due to a heavily corked thigh. Youngster Tom Barrass is in line for his debut if McGovern fails to get up. He was held out of the WAFL at the weekend as were Scott Lycett, Fraser McInnes and Jackson Nelson to ensure a healthy squad for Friday night. Sharrod Wellingham copped a knock in the win over Essendon as well but Nelson provides the obvious fall back. Matt Rosa might provide a temptation for Adam Simpson. He played restricted minutes for East Perth after missing six weeks with hamstring issues. He gathered 27 touches for the Royals. But it would only be a five-day break for Rosa if Simpson elects to play him. – Alex Malcolm
The Dogs are likely to regain key performers Marcus Bontempelli (abductor) and Liam Picken (hamstring) for Saturday night's clash with the Brisbane Lions. Sam Darley (38 possessions), Lachie Hunter (34 touches) and Michael Talia all had strong games for Footscray before the bye. Draftees Bailey Dale, Lukas Webb and Toby McLean all had quiet games in the loss to the Power, but McLean would be stiff to be omitted after impressing in limited game time as the sub. – Ryan Davidson
