UNLUCKY North Melbourne defender Ed Vickers-Willis has copped another injury setback after hurting his 'good' shoulder during the club's training camp in Utah.
Vickers-Willis damaged his right shoulder in a tackling drill and is set to miss a chunk of the Kangaroos' pre-season campaign.
However, the 19-year-old is expected to be available for selection in round one.
It's the latest hiccup for the 190cm prospect, whose first season at Arden Street was cut short when he needed a left shoulder reconstruction in June.
“It’s certainly very frustrating for Ed as he had returned to full training when this latest injury occurred on his opposite shoulder,” football operations manager Cameron Joyce said.
“He’s been working extremely hard to make his way back and was certainly impressing on the track, so it’s a bitter pill to swallow.
“While he will miss some of the pre-season campaign, we fully expect him to be ready to play once Round 1 rolls around at the end of March.”
Vickers-Willis, who is yet to debut for the Kangaroos, hurt his shoulder during the latter stages of the camp at Park City's Fieldhouse in Utah.
“He’s certainly not letting this latest setback get him down and has certainly impressed everyone at Arden St with his positive attitude to the news," Joyce said.
The athletic teenager played five VFL games for Werribee last season after being taken with pick 36 in the 2014 NAB AFL Draft.
