HAWTHORN has confirmed that a second player is under police investigation over an incident on October 9.
On Friday, it was revealed that police had spoken to two Hawthorn players as part of the investigation into an alleged sexual offence, but Hawthorn issued a statement on Friday night saying that only one player - not a premiership player - was under investigation.
Hawthorn said the other player was assisting police with their inquiries.
However, on Sunday in a brief statement the Hawks said Victoria Police had made the club aware that the second player was also under investigation.
The offence is alleged to have occurred in the Melbourne suburb of Ashwood, according to police.
