Veteran forward James Podsiadly had it on a string as he bagged 11 goals in the Crows' 66-point win.

After his nine-goal haul last week, the 33-year-old amassed a season-high 29 possessions and 18 marks in the reserves' final game for the year.

Midfielder Sam Kerridge continued his impressive run in the past month, finishing with a match-high 31 disposals, nine clearances and a goal.

Brisbane Lions

State league affiliate: Brisbane Lions (NEAFL)
This weekend: Redland v Brisbane Lions - Saturday August 29, 1.30pm, Tidbold Park

Out-of-favour midfielder Rohan Bewick couldn't have done much more to win a recall than his 31-disposal, three-goal effort in the Lions' seven-point win.

He was one of several Lions who feasted on the ball, with Mitch Golby (28 possessions, two goals) and omitted midfielder Zac O'Brien (30, one goal) also having days out.

Fellow axed Lion Trent West booted two goals from his nine disposals.

Carlton

State league affiliate: Northern Blues (VFL)
This weekend: Geelong v Northern Blues - Saturday August 29, 1pm, Simonds Stadium

Forward Liam Jones slotted two majors and collected 18 touches to put his hand up for a final round recall for Carlton as the Northern Blues' tough season came to an end in an 81-point belting.

Blaine Johnson, Fraser Russell and Dylan Viojo-Rainbow kicked a goal each in the losing cause.

Collingwood

State league affiliate: Collingwood (VFL)
This weekend: Collingwood v Port Melbourne - Saturday August 29, 1pm, Victoria Park

Running defender Adam Oxley pressed his case for a round 23 recall as the Magpies prevailed by eight points over Port Melbourne at a wet Victoria Park.

Key backman Jack Frost responded well after being dropped to be among the best, along with ruckman Jarrod Witts and Ben Kennedy.

Patrick Karnezis registered an equal game-high two goals.

The Magpies take on Werribee in an elimination final next Saturday.

Essendon

State league affiliate: Essendon (VFL)
This weekend: Essendon v Richmond - Saturday August 29, 1pm, Windy Hill

Athletic first-year player Kyle Langford collected a team-high 24 disposals through the midfield, with eight marks, six clearances and a goal as the Bombers secured a 17-point victory.

"When (Langford) gets the ball he's got a great awareness of what's around him and he always makes really good decisions," Bombers coach Mark Corrigan told the club's website.

Jason Ashby also found plenty of the football, defender Ariel Steinberg held Liam McBean to two goals and Kyle Hardingham slotted three majors.

The win sets up an elimination final against Casey next Sunday.

Fremantle

State league affiliate: Peel Thunder (WAFL)
This weekend: Peel Thunder v South Fremantle - Saturday August 29, 2.15pm, Bendigo Bank Stadium

Rookie Jacob Ballard took the honours for the Fremantle-listed players, collecting 29 disposals and five inside 50s in the 39-point win.

Youngster Brady Grey (24 touches, 10 inside 50s) and ruckman Jack Hannath (16 touches, 34 hit-outs, one goal) were also among the Dockers' best.

Omitted forward Hayden Crozier was held goalless and had 18 disposals.

The third-placed Thunder will take on second-placed West Perth in a qualifying final next Sunday, but could be without a host of players with Fremantle coach Ross Lyon set to rest a number of senior Dockers for the round 23 clash against Port Adelaide.

• Lyon's bid to rest players hinges on AFL's integrity rule

Geelong

State league affiliate: Geelong (VFL)
This weekend: Geelong v Northern Blues - Saturday August 29, 1pm, Simonds Stadium

George Horlin-Smith slotted four goals as the Cats romped to an 81-point win on their home deck in their final game for the season.

Geelong had 14 individual goalkickers, including Shane Kersten (three), while Josh Cowan and veteran Mathew Stokes both impressed.

Gold Coast

State league affiliate: Gold Coast (NEAFL)
This weekend: Ainslie v Gold Coast - Saturday August 29, 12pm, Alan Ray Oval

Several Suns kicked a big bag of goals in their 84-point demolition of Ainslie.

Rookie Louis Herbert led the way with five goals, while big man Peter Wright and mature-age rookie Tyrone Downie booted four goals apiece.

Ruckman Daniel Gorringe and midfielder Andrew Boston were named among the Suns' best players.

GWS

State league affiliate: UWS Giants (NEAFL)
This weekend: UWS Giants v Sydney University - Saturday August 29, 10.05am, Spotless Stadium

On-baller Jacob Townsend continued his strong second half of the year after coming back from a foot injury and was the Giant's best with 17 touches in a 33-point defeat.

Hard-running Jake Barrett and tough nut Jack Steele were both outstanding with 33 touches and a goal apiece.

The Giants have next weekend off after finishing the home and away season on top of the ladder.

Hawthorn

State league affiliate: Box Hill Hawks (VFL)
This weekend: Box Hill v Williamstown - Sunday August 30, 2pm, Box Hill City Oval

Ever-reliable midfielder Brendan Whitecross was among the Hawks' leading possession-getters, collecting 27 disposals and taking eight marks in his side's 14-point loss.

Whitecross was well complemented by fellow ball-winner Jonathan Simpkin, who generated plenty of run with his 23 touches.

Forward Sam Grimley (one goal) claimed the Frosty Miller Medal in a three-way tie with Richmond's Liam McBean and Port Melbourne's Jordan Lisle on 42 goals each for the season.

Box Hill finished the regular season as minor premier and will now do battle with fourth-placed Footscray in a qualifying final next Saturday.

Melbourne

State league affiliate: Casey Scorpions (VFL)
This weekend: Sandringham v Casey Scorpions - Saturday August 29, 2pm, Trevor Barker Beach Oval

Casey only booted five goals, but small forward Jay Kennedy-Harris kicked two of them in a heavy loss to Sandringham.

Dean Terlich, Rohan Bail and Mitchell White picked up plenty of possessions in an otherwise disappointing day for the Scorpions.

The eighth-placed Scorpions will play Essendon in next Sunday's elimination final.

North Melbourne

State league affiliates: Werribee, North Ballarat (VFL)
This weekend: Werribee v Footscray - Sunday August 30, 11.42am, Avalon Airport Oval; North Ballarat v Coburg - Saturday August 29, 2pm, Eureka Stadium

North Melbourne will be sweating on Daniel Wells' fitness after the star onballer limped off with a calf injury in a 42-point win over Coburg.

Wells had eight disposals in the first quarter, but his day was done before three-quarter time and he had ice strapped to the back of his left leg at the final change.

The electric midfielder has been edging closer to a senior return after being sidelined for the Roos since round two due to an Achilles injury.

Midfielder Trent Dumont (24 touches, nine clearances) and defender Joel Tippett (23 touches) were among the Roos' better-performed players.

The game marked the end of North's partnership with North Ballarat as the club prepares to enter a full alignment with Werribee from next season.

It was also coach Gerard FitzGerald's final match in charge of the Roosters.

Meanwhile, Majak Daw (three goals) and Scott McMahon (23 touches) did their chances of a senior recall no harm with standout performances in Werribee's scrappy and mistake-ridden four-point loss to Footscray.

Daw's supreme athleticism was on display and it resulted in three goals, several contested marks and a strong presence in the ruck. McMahon was nearly impenetrable across half-back, with his smart reading of the play reaping him many intercept marks and set up plenty of forward thrusts.

Midfielders Kayne Turner and Kieran Harper tried hard and created plenty of run while ruckman Daniel Currie had the better of Will Minson in the ruck. Werribee will now play Collingwood in a cut-throat elimination final next Saturday.

Port Adelaide

State league affiliate: Port Adelaide (SANFL)
This weekend: Port Adelaide v West Adelaide - Sunday August 30, 2.10pm, Alberton Oval

Axed midfielder Kane Mitchell responded to his omission in the best possible way, accumulating 36 disposals, 11 clearances, seven tackles and kicking a goal in his team's 37-point win.

Onballer Andrew Moore was also kept busy with 27 touches, six tackles and a goal, while experienced campaigner Paul Stewart wasn't far behind on 25 disposals, 12 marks and a goal.

The second-placed Magpies will now meet West Adelaide in next Sunday's qualifying final.

Richmond

State league affiliate: Richmond (VFL)
This weekend: Essendon v Richmond - Saturday August 29, 1pm, Windy Hill

Matt Dea racked up 31 touches and took nine marks, but his efforts weren't enough for the Tigers to overcome Essendon on Saturday.

Matt Arnot ran amok with 30 touches while, after announcing his retirement this week, Chris Knights had 29 and kicked a goal. Matt McDonough (27, two goals) was dangerous and big forward Liam McBean slotted two majors.

McBean's two goals were enough to see him claim the Frosty Miller Medal as the league's leading goalkicker in a three-way tie with Hawthorn's Sam Grimley and Port Melbourne's Jordan Lisle on 42 goals.

St Kilda

State league affiliate: Sandringham (VFL)
This weekend: Sandringham v Casey Scorpions - Saturday August 29, 2pm, Trevor Barker Beach Oval

Ahmed Saad kicked back-to-back hauls of four goals, while Arryn Sipposs had 24 touches and booted a goal in a thumping 51-point win.

Josh Saunders bounced back from his AFL axing by also racking up 24 possessions.

The second-placed Zebras will do battle with Williamstown next Sunday.

Sydney Swans

State league affiliate: Sydney Swans (NEAFL)
This weekend: Aspley v Sydney Swans - Saturday August 29, 12pm, Graham Road

Key defensive prospect Aliir Aliir helped guide the Swans to a 20-point win as Ben McGlynn made an encouraging return from a hamstring injury.

Harry Marsh, James Rose (one goal) and Craig Bird also performed strongly, while Toby Nankervis booted two majors.

The fifth-placed Swans will meet Aspley in an elimination final next Saturday.

West Coast

State league affiliate: East Perth (WAFL)
This weekend: East Perth v Subiaco - Saturday August 29, 2.15pm, Medibank Stadium

Midfielder Scott Selwood, who becomes a restricted free agent at season's end, made a promising return from an ankle injury with 21 disposals and six tackles in his side's four-point defeat.

Onballer Kane Lucas had 21 touches and four marks as he continues his push to play his first AFL game for the Eagles, while forward Tom Lamb kicked a goal from his 10 possessions.

Fourth-placed East Perth will face off against fifth-placed Claremont in an elimination final next Sunday.

Western Bulldogs

State league affiliate: Footscray (VFL)
This weekend: Werribee v Footscray - Sunday August 30, 11.42am, Avalon Airport Oval

Luke Beveridge would have taken several positives out of Footscray's scrappy and mistake riddled four-point win over Werribee.

The Bulldogs' coach was an interested onlooker and witnessed impressive performances from Tom Boyd, Fletcher Roberts and Caleb Daniel.

For the second time in three weeks, Boyd kicked the match-winning goal, but also presented well and took plenty of strong marks. The 20-year-old finished with just the one goal.

Roberts looks set to add some much needed height to the Dogs' backline with an accomplished afternoon of strong marking and timely spoils.

Daniel stood out with his clean hands and 21 disposals while Ayce Cordy, Brett Goodes (18 disposals and a goal) and Bailey Dale (18 disposals) also had serviceable afternoons.

Will Minson's absence from the senior side appears justified after he had limited impact in the ruck and around the ground. On the downside, impressive youngster Roarke Smith limped off the ground with a leg injury.

The win earned the reigning premier the double chance.
