TOM BOYD is the Western Bulldogs' million-dollar man and the new face of the club but does he have enough credits in the bank to walk in to your Fantasy lineup?

Boyd, who accepted a seven-year deal worth more than $6 million to join the Bulldogs in this year's trade period, kicked eight goals in nine games in his debut season for Greater Western Sydney last season.

The young power forward averaged just 35 fantasy points per game in 2014, yet his price of $192,000 makes him a tantalising prospect for coaches.

Boyd is the Bulldogs' main target up forward and he will receive plenty of opportunities to kick bags of goals.

The Dogs' lineup has a different look about it in 2015. Ryan Griffen, Adam Cooney and Shaun Higgins are gone and in their place is the future.

That future starts with Marcus Bontempelli and he's both nicely priced (FWD/MID, $392,000) and has dual-position status. If you're planning a mid-priced strategy across the board, he should be one of the first picked.

Other players such as Nathan Hrovat (FWD, $405,000), Lachie Hunter (FWD, $356,000)and Jake Stringer (FWD, $332,000) will be charged with leading the club forward.



With Griffen departed, Tom Liberatore (MID, $559,000) is the club's main man in the midfield. Liberatore, who led the AFL in clearances in 2014, averaged 98.7 Fantasy points last year and proved himself as one of the game's premium inside midfielders. The 22-year-old averaged 23.4 disposals per game, and despite the attention he will cop, Liberatore is every chance to elevate his game again next year.

Jarrad Grant (FWD, $245,000) has not had the most charmed run in the AFL. The fifth pick in the 2007 NAB AFL Draft has failed to command a regular place in the Dogs' line-up, having played 62 games in six seasons on the club's list. But the 192cm forward has plenty of talent and may benefit from a change at the top with Luke Beveridge coming in as coach. Pocket rocket Toby McLean (FWD, $220,000) is another one to watch after being drafted by the Dogs in last month's draft. Lukas Webb (FWD, $217,000) – the club's 27th pick in the draft – is also highly touted and may see some opportunities early in the year.

Big Will Minson (RUCK, $474,000) has been a consistent performer for the Bulldogs for many years. He remains one of the strongest big men in the competition, but at $474,000, and in a struggling team, Minson's fantasy relevance may have expired. Look to Hawthorn's Ben McEvoy (RUCK, $437,000) or even Collingwood's Brodie Grundy (RUCK, $344,000) as more effective ruck options.
