SEASON 2014 was ordinary to say the least for the Blues; the side finished 13th on the ladder and only one player – best and fairest Bryce Gibbs – averaged more than 100 NAB AFL Fantasy points a game. 
 
 
The silver lining is that in 2015, players who are capable of much more than they showed this year are very reasonably priced. 
 
Gibbs (MID, $574,000), Marc Murphy (MID, $544,000) and Kade Simpson (DEF, $521,000) are the only Blues valued at more than $500,000. 
 
Players that showed real Fantasy potential this year, such as Sam Docherty (DEF, $446,000) and Ed Curnow (MID, $482,000) are set to develop in 2015 and up their games accordingly. 
 
The disappointment that was 2014 has also led to a favourable draw next year.
 
The Blues only have to play one of this year's top six sides twice (Hawthorn), which should result in more opportunities for players to strut their stuff.
 
If they do manage to rebound, Fantasy coaches will be able to make significant earnings from selling off Carlton-listed assets when their prices rise.

Matthew Kreuzer (RUCK, $244,000): He's the 2007 No.1 draft pick, he's incredibly cheap and he's been known to drift forward for a bag or two. If you believe Mick Malthouse, Carlton's notional leading big man is tracking perfectly for round one, and with quality ruckmen at a premium in Fantasy, Kreuzer is likely to be one of the most selected players in all of Fantasy. 

Andrejs Everitt (DEF/MID, $412,000): He played the best football of his career this year at his third AFL club, finishing equal seventh at Carlton's best and fairest. It was Everitt's first year as a Blue, so the upward trend is encouraging, and with dual-position status, Spida's little brother is worth consideration.

 
Blaine Boekhorst (MID, $243,000): The 21-year-old was Carlton's first pick at the NAB AFL Draft after an impressive season for Swan Districts in the WAFL. He averaged 21 possessions a game this year and if he earns himself an early debut, and keeps his tweets about the coach nice, he could be a bargain.
Andrew Carrazzo (MID, $461,000): The 30-year-old veteran is capable of hitting triple figures in Fantasy, and peaked with 122 points in round 13 this year. But he hasn't managed to play more than 14 games for three years. And while he can score big, he also drifts out of games. Steer clear.
