MELBOURNE may be prepared to part with Jack Watts for the right price but his manager expects the utility to be playing at the Demons in 2016.
Paul Connors said Watts, who is contracted until the end of next season, wanted to remain loyal to Melbourne but indicated the club was exploring its options.
"I expect Jack Watts to be playing for the Melbourne footy club, but funny things happen," Connors told NAB Trade Radio.
"If they can get a first-round pick for Jack Watts then Melbourne has to do what's best for them.
"But again, the player has a right to say no and yes."
Connors also said:
- Matthew Leuenberger was deciding on playing at the Sydney Swans or Essendon, with the race "too close to call".
- Stefan Martin will remain at the Brisbane Lions after contemplating a move home to Melbourne.
- Youngster Nathan Freeman's desired move to St Kilda is "100 per cent not a money play" as the former top-10 Collingwood draft pick seeks more playing time.
- Lewis Jetta has not met either West Coast or Fremantle but is most likely to land at the Eagles.
- Jake Melksham's desired club is Melbourne, given his strong relationship with the Demons' senior coach-in-waiting Simon Goodwin from his time at Essendon.
- Port Adelaide midfielder Andrew Moore, who is out of contract, is open to a move to a Victorian club as he seeks more playing opportunities.
