NORTH Melbourne midfielder Ryan Bastinac is meeting with Brisbane Lions officials and is exploring his playing options, his manager says.
The 24-year-old, who is contracted to the Kangaroos for the next two years, played 17 games this season but did not take part in the club's three finals matches.
His manager Liam Pickering told NAB AFL Trade Radio on Friday that his client was touring the Lions' facilities and was after more playing opportunities at AFL level.
"'Basti' is up in Brisbane at the moment so he's having a look around, meeting the coach (Justin Leppitsch) and speaking to key people up there," Pickering said.
"Brisbane was one of the clubs, but if there are other clubs that are interested in Ryan, we'd certainly talk to them at the moment.
"He certainly wasn't in the team come finals, so that was frustrating."
Bastinac was omitted from the Roos' squad on three separate occasions this year and featured for VFL affiliate North Ballarat for the first time since 2011.
He has played 121 games since being recruited with pick No.21 in the 2009 NAB AFL Draft.
Meanwhile, Pickering said there was "no real update" on out-of-contract Lions midfielder James Aish, who has nominated Collingwood as his desired new home.
The Kangaroos have expressed their interest in securing Aish, but Pickering said the 19-year-old had his sights firmly set on joining the Magpies.
"(We're) still obviously speaking to Brisbane and Collingwood, but nothing's really progressed," he said.
"Collingwood is the preference, that's the destination at the moment."
Pickering also said out-of-favour Western Bulldogs defender Michael Talia had held talks with Essendon about a possible trade deal.
"They've had a chat with Michael - he met with them early last week," he said.
"All things being equal there's an opportunity potentially there."
Talia, 22, is at the centre of an AFL investigation after being accused of leaking sensitive game-related information to his Adelaide-listed brother, Daniel, in the lead-up to the Bulldogs-Crows elimination final.
