LINDSAY Thomas will miss North Melbourne's clash with St Kilda this week after being hit with a one-match ban for his 'coathanger' tackle on Lachie Hunter.

The Kangaroos small forward has accepted a one-game suspension for the crude tackle, which saw Hunter head to hospital after the game with concussion symptoms.

The MRP classified the incident as careless conduct with medium impact to Hunter's head, which drew a two-game sanction. An early plea allowed Thomas' suspension to be cut to one game.

Thomas was the only player hit with a suspension from round six, with Hawthorn pair Luke Hodge and Ben Stratton cleared for incidents in the Hawks' loss to Greater Western Sydney.

Adelaide's Kyle Hartigan was charged with rough conduct against Fremantle forward Michael Walters and has accepted a $1000 sanction, while Brisbane Lions midfielder Tom Bell has also accepted a $1000 fine for rough conduct against Sydney Swan Jake Lloyd.

The MRP said Stratton's head clash with Wilson was "accidental" as he tried to smother Wilson's kick.

Hodge also escaped without a charge for his high hit on Wilson, with the MRP and umpire in the game saying the Hawks skipper made contact to Wilson above the shoulder with an "open hand".
