This weekend: North Adelaide v Adelaide - Sunday May 8, 1.10pm, Prospect Oval
Teenage midfielder Harrison Wigg, the No.35 selection in the 2014 NAB AFL Draft, accumulated a game-high 25 disposals (13 contested) and four clearances in the Crows' thrilling four-point win.
Reliable ball-winners Cam Ellis-Yolmen and Mitch Grigg asserted their influence around the contest with 24 touches apiece in the slippery conditions.
Ellis-Yolmen also chipped in with two goals, while axed onballer Jarryd Lyons (15 disposals) kicked the only goal of the last term in the dying stages to guide his side over the line.

This weekend: Casey Scorpions v Northern Blues - Sunday May 8, 2pm, Casey Fields
There weren't many positives for the Blues in their 107-point loss to Casey, with two VFL-listed players taken to hospital after being involved in separate collisions.
Omitted midfielder Nick Graham played a lone hand for his side, gathering 32 disposals, laying 14 tackles and taking nine marks.
Former Sydney Swans defender Matthew Dick, who joined the Blues as a delisted free agent at the end of 2014, also held his own with 27 touches.
In his comeback from a calf strain, Dylan Buckley appeared to be reported in the first half.
Collingwood
State league affiliate: Collingwood (VFL)
This weekend: Collingwood v Sandringham - Saturday May 7, 4.50pm, Holden Centre
Collingwood’s wish for key senior players to hit form in the VFL was dashed, with vice-captain Nathan Brown sitting out the final term with an iced hamstring in his side’s 67-point loss to Sandringham and Travis Cloke unable to take his place in the side.
The key defender would have been hoping to make a significant impact after being omitted from the struggling senior side, along with Cloke, who was withdrawn from the match due to a back complaint.
In better news for the club, Jarrod Witts returned from a hand injury that had kept him sidelined since March. The 209cm ruckman competed well for the Pies and was named among the best.
Jonathon Marsh also returned from a spell on the sidelines following a hamstring injury and provided leadership in defence.
Essendon
State league affiliate: Essendon (VFL)
This weekend: Essendon v Geelong - Saturday May 7, 12pm, Windy Hill
Top-up ruckman Mark Jamar was near best-afield in Essendon's 21-point win over Geelong in their VFL clash at Windy Hill on Saturday.
The 32-year-old former Demon held sway in ruck duels and made his presence felt around the ground.
Jackson Merrett was also prominent for the Bombers' reserves, particularly in the first half when he amassed 19 disposals and two of his three goals.
Rookie Will Hams and Martin Gleeson were also prolific runners, while up forward, Essendon had multiple avenues to goal with Shaun Edwards (two goals) and Irish import Conor McKenna (one) shining.
Jack Langford slotted a game-high three majors while big man Sam Grimley managed two.

This weekend: West Perth v Peel Thunder - Saturday May 7, 2.15pm, HBF Arena
Clancee Pearce amassed a game-high 35 disposals in his side’s 17-point loss to West Perth at HBF Arena on Saturday.
The 25-year-old midfielder is nearing full fitness after returning from a hamstring injury last week.
Fellow on-baller Ed Langdon, omitted from the Dockers senior line-up after round four, was also prolific with 30 possessions.
Utility Tendai Mzungu was quiet by his standards and ended with just 16 touches, while rookie-listed Tanner Smith was Peel’s only multiple goalkicker with two majors.
Hard-luck story Anthony Morabito was a casualty from the loss, suffering a low-grade hamstring injury.
Geelong
State league affiliate: Geelong (VFL)
This weekend: Essendon v Geelong - Saturday May 7, 12pm, Windy Hill
Jed Bews responded strongly following his recent omission and gathered 25 disposals to be named among the Cats' best in their 21-point loss to Essendon.
First-year draftee, Tasmanian Ryan Gardner, was also impressive in a losing side, along with fellow uncapped Cat Zach Bates, who finished with two goals.
Billy Smedts (21 disposals) and George Horlin-Smith (25 disposals, two goals) were also among Geelong's best performed reserves players.

Rookie midfielder Ryan Davis bounced back from his omission from the senior side by being among the club's best players in their NEAFL loss to the Swans at Blacktown International Sportspark on Saturday.
Teammates Jack Leslie, Keegan Brooksby, fellow rookie Jesse Joyce and prized draftee Callum Ah Chee were also strong performers in a 65-point loss.
Goalsneak Brandon Matera and ruckman Tom Nicholls managed a goal apiece in a quiet day at the office for the pair.

Forward Chris Dawes made a successful return to action from a calf injury, kicking two last-quarter goals from about 70 per cent game time in Casey's dominant 107-point win in wet conditions.
Scorpions coach Justin Plapp told AFL.com.au on Sunday that Dawes had more impact as the game went on, and would continue to build his match fitness over the coming weeks.
"He finished the game off to what we would've expected and he certainly looked like he had a fair bit of run in his legs towards the end of the game," Plapp said.
Youngster Ben Newton led the way with 38 disposals and two goals, and was joined by Alex Neal-Bullen (30 disposals), omitted Demon Lynden Dunn (26) and Jack Grimes (24, two goals).
Midfielder Jack Trengove had 23 touches and kicked a goal as he continues to eye a senior return.
"I can't fault him. He's building and he's certainly on the right track to get back to where he wants to be and playing senior footy," Plapp said.
"He's giving himself every chance to make that a reality."

This weekend: Werribee v Williamstown - Saturday May 7, 7pm, Avalon Airport Oval
Big men Majak Daw and Aaron Black took the points for the North-listed players in Werribee's 74-point loss, kicking four goals apiece from very limited opportunities in attack.
Daw was named in the Kangaroos' original 25-man squad to face St Kilda and has been in good form at VFL level.
Port Adelaide
State league affiliate: Port Adelaide (SANFL)
This weekend: Port Adelaide v West Adelaide - Saturday May 7, 2.10pm, Alberton Oval
Mature-age rookie Kane Mitchell gathered a game-high 32 possessions, along with five clearances and a goal as Port Adelaide posted a 27-point win over West Adelaide in their SANFL contest at Alberton Oval on Saturday.
Teenager Jesse Palmer had 23 touches and slotted three goals, while Karl Amon had 20 touches and six inside 50s.
Dougal Howard, a workmanlike competitor in Port's win over Richmond at the MCG last week, had 14 possessions, seven marks, nine hitouts and kicked 2.2.
Howard worked in tandem with fellow big man John Butcher, who had a wayward day in front of goal, spraying 2.4 from 15 touches and six marks.
Meanwhile, for West Adelaide, former Brisbane Lions midfielder Zac O'Brien won 13 clearances – almost half Port Adelaide's team total.
O'Brien hopes to earn another chance at AFL level.

This weekend: Port Melbourne v Richmond - Saturday May 7, 2pm, North Port Oval
Rookie midfielder Adam Marcon was one of the few positives for the Tigers in their 43-point defeat, demonstrating his usual ball-winning ability and booting a goal as well.
The 23-year-old, who is yet to make his senior debut for Richmond, was well assisted by ex-Cats defender Taylor Hunt, while forward Liam McBean led the Tigers' goalkicking with two majors.

Small forward Eli Templeton collected a team-high 33 disposals and kicked a goal in his team’s 67-point victory over Collingwood.
Paddy McCartin was a focal point in attack and bagged two clever goals in the win. The 2014 No.1 draft pick was left out of the senior side following strong performances from Membrey and Bruce, but will be hoping to earn a recall.
Rebounding defender Cameron Shenton played further up the ground and booted three goals to go along with his 21 touches.

Brandon Jack and Abe Davis both amassed 30 possessions and three goals as the Swans enjoyed a 65-point win in their NEAFL clash with Gold Coast at Blacktown International Sportspark on Saturday.
Dean Towers (28 disposals) and rookies Jordan Foote (25) and Nic Newman (23) were also key figures as the undefeated Swans strengthened their position as league leaders.
Jack Hiscox bagged four second-half goals as the Swans turned a one point half-time lead into a blowout victory, while academy top-up Matt Wilson also contributed four majors.

Western Bulldogs
State league affiliate: Footscray (VFL)
This weekend: Footscray v North Ballarat - Sunday May 8, 11.40am, Whitten Oval
Youngsters Lukas Webb, Mitch Honeychurch and rookie Brad Lynch were all prolific ball-winners in the Bulldogs' 105-point victory.
Webb relished the wet conditions with 28 possessions and two goals, while Honeychurch and Lynch were next with 26 touches apiece.
Axed Bulldog Lin Jong also regained his touch in a solid display, with his 23 disposals (16 contested), five clearances, four tackles and two goals causing havoc for North Ballarat.
The 22-year-old's disposal was at times wasteful – largely due to the conditions – and his costly turnover by foot in the third quarter led to the Roosters' third goal of the game.
Jong redeemed himself soon after, however, by drilling a set shot.
Forgotten ruckman Will Minson, who last played for the Bulldogs in last year's elimination final, also performed well in the one-sided affair with 43 hit-outs and 18 disposals.
