2. History in the making
Perfect weather and a crucial clash between two quality sides saw Sunday's twilight fixture break the attendance record for a Giants' game at Spotless Stadium, and the overall record for the venue since it was redeveloped. 21,541 fans turned out for the 10th Sydney derby, eclipsing the 19,507 that attended the round 15 match between the cross-town rivals in round 21 last season. The Giants' 100th match in the competition was one to remember as they claimed just their second win over the Swans and stamped themselves as genuine premiership contenders.

All Australian Heath Shaw might command the spotlight for his outstanding form but his younger teammate is quickly establishing himself as one of the most attacking small defenders in the game. Wilson is lightning quick and carries the footy with confidence and plenty of flair, and has an elite kick that he uses to great effect for the Giants. 4. A tyre-ific kick
There was plenty of tension at the three-quarter time break with the Giants leading by 20 points, but the crowd sprung to life thanks to a skillful member of the crowd. A Giants' co-main sponsor put $100,000 up for grabs if the supporter could kick a footy and land it inside a stack of five tyres from 30 metres away. The gentleman will become the next viral sensation after he calmly slotted it, sending the crowd into raptures, and no doubt his mates will be heading straight to the bar for celebrations.

5. Welcome back Sam Reid
Round 15, 2013 was the last time Greater Western Sydney forward Sam Reid was seen at AFL level, and he certainly enjoyed his return. After injuries forced him to retire, Reid put his time into coaching, but after starring in the NEAFL he was put on the Giants' rookie list at the end of last year. He was then upgraded earlier this year before earning his first game against the Swans. While it wasn't a prolific night for the hard-working forward, a brilliant snap from a tight angle gave his side a vital last-quarter goal and Reid was mobbed by his teammates. The GWS victory was extra sweet for Reid, who had never sung the team song in his previous 14 games for the club.
