RICHMOND will get a closer look at father-son prospect Patrick Naish this month as he completes a two-week training block at the club as part of the NAB AFL Academy program.
The 17-year-old midfielder, whose father Chris played 143 games for the Tigers in the 1990s before two seasons at Port Adelaide, is eligible to join Richmond at next year's draft.
He will spend this week and next week training at the Tigers' Punt Road headquarters for the 'club placement' period of the national Academy's program.
Members of the level two Academy squad (those players eligible for the 2017 draft) will train with a club in December for two weeks to gain an insight into AFL life before entering their draft year.
Greater Western Sydney will have four members of its northern academy training at the club, headlined by highly-rated pair Charlie Spargo and Jarrod Brander, while key forward Connor Ballenden will join Jack Clayton in training at the Brisbane Lions.
Victorian small forward Aaron Darling will head to Perth to train with West Coast alongside his cousin, Eagles key forward Jack.
Highly rated pair Lochie O'Brien and Joel Garner will join Carlton on its pre-season camp in Queensland next week, while Geelong Falcons midfielders James Worpel and Paddy Dow will train with the Cats.
Exciting forward Jaidyn Stephenson has been touted as an early pick and will show his wares at North Melbourne, and Hunter Clark, who shone at the NAB All Stars game on Grand Final morning, will spend his club experience at St Kilda.
The level two group recently completed a training camp in Darwin under new head coach Luke Power and next month will head to America for a high performance camp in Florida and Los Angeles.
