Early prognosis
Skipper Taylor Walker should be right to face the Hawks after going close last week while fellow forward Mitch McGovern will have his ankle injury assessed. Midfielder Brad Crouch will play in round one of the SANFL on April 8. He will need a couple weeks to build match fitness given his injury history and the fact he's been sidelined since mid-January. Defender Kyle Cheney will miss up to a month with a hamstring injury sustained at training last week. He had a limited pre-season with a groin issue. Winger Paul Seedsman is still in the rehab group and will need time in the state league before he is considered for the senior side. Draftee Ben Davis has had surgery on his foot. He arrived at the club with a stress fracture and it didn't respond to treatment. - Lee Gaskin

The Blues have declared the versatile Jacob Weitering, who copped an accidental knock to the hip from Richmond defender Alex Rance early in last Thursday night’s season opener, will be fit to take on the Demons on Sunday. Key midfielder Patrick Cripps, who appeared to hurt his arm late against the Tigers but played on, also should be right. Dylan Buckley has recovered from a hip injury and played in a VFL practice match last Thursday. Phillips is in training but at least a fortnight off playing and Byrne hopes to return late in the season. - Howard Kotton

Elliott has been ruled out of round two and will need at least one VFL game first before the Pies consider selecting him. De Goey will be sidelined for an extended period, set to miss another two or three games with a broken knuckle in his right hand followed by a club-imposed three-match suspension for initially lying about how he sustained the injury. The date for ex-Roo Wells' long-awaited debut for the Pies continues to drift. Wills has recovered from a quad problem and could be available to play in the VFL side in the next week or two. - Ben Collins

After two VFL practice games, Tom Bellchambers is close to being ready for senior selection after a pre-season impacted by knee surgery. Early prognosis
Ross Lyon has described Harley Bennell's long-awaited return to football as a "moving feast", but the injury-plagued star reportedly took part in match simulation last week at training in a significant step forward. Hayden Ballantyne is expected to start running soon after recovering well from hamstring surgery a fortnight ago, and big man Michael Apeness is building his workload on the anti-gravity treadmill. Early prognosis
The Demons insist star pair Jesse Hogan and Max Gawn will be fit to face the Blues on Sunday. Hogan was on crutches on Monday after rolling his ankle against St Kilda. The spearhead did not train with teammates on Tuesday, instead completing an 'off legs' session in the gym. Gawn was on light duties and walked laps on Tuesday but, with the extra day to recover, should be ready to roll against Carlton. Michael Hibberd worked hard in rehab on Tuesday and the Demons are hopeful they will have him available to play soon. The Demons have upgraded Mitch King back to the senior list in place of Joel Smith who is set to miss four months after shoulder surgery on Tuesday.- Ben Guthrie

Waite was the only addition to North's list after round one. The loss of Dale Morris for the next two months is a massive blow, but the veteran has avoided surgery. Tory Dickson can't take a trick, with the goal sneak succumbing to an abdominal strain just weeks after returning from off-season groin surgery. Tim English should be right for a VFL practice match this weekend after overcoming a shin complaint. - Ryan Davidson
