BRISBANE Lions coach Chris Fagan has made a strong pitch to potential recruit Charlie Cameron, saying the club would love to have the Adelaide forward on its 2018 list if he was available.  

Cameron has been linked with a move to Brisbane for family reasons, but he is contracted to the Crows for 2018 and regarded as a key cog in Don Pyke's high-scoring forward line.

The Lions are looking to secure young talent and Fagan said the 22-year-old Cameron would be the type of player the rebuilding club would target in this year's NAB AFL Trade Period.

"We're certainly interested in getting players to our club to help us progress up the ladder and his age profile and talent would certainly be something we'd be interested in," Fagan said on Sportsday radio on Tuesday night.

"I'll leave all that stuff to (football manager) David Noble and (list manager) Dom Ambrogio.

"But from a coaching perspective, if Charlie Cameron were to be available and interested in coming to Brisbane we'd love to have him as part of our team."

Cameron has kicked 22 goals in 19 games this season and averaged 4.4 tackles a game, with the speedster offering defensive pressure as well as attacking flair in the forward line.

The Crows also face the prospect of losing talls Jake Lever and Mitch McGovern during the Trade Period.

The club on Monday announced it had re-signed emerging players Riley Knight, Jake Kelly, Alex Keath and Tom Doedee until the end of 2019.
