DAMAGING half-back Nathan Wilson will be traded to Fremantle, but Greater Western Sydney is holding out for more than the Dockers' future second-round draft pick.
The Giants are monitoring negotiations between the Dockers and Suns over wantaway young gun Lachie Weller, hoping to snare a better deal for Wilson.
"The Dockers have spoken to us about their future second-round (pick), we've asked for a little bit more than that," GWS list manager Craig Cameron told NAB AFL Trade Radio.
"But there's also potentially something else at play with Fremantle and the Gold Coast, which again we're waiting to see how that unfolds before we jump on that (Wilson deal).
"I've got no doubt Nathan will be traded well before the deadline tomorrow."
Gold Coast currently holds second-round picks 21, 24 and 26 and could land one of Geelong's selections 19 or 22 as part of the Gary Ablett trade.
Those selections could come into play for Weller, although the Dockers demanded the Suns' prized pick two in initial negotiations.
Fremantle and Gold Coast are also yet to complete a trade for goalsneak Brandon Matera to return to Perth.
Meanwhile, the Giants are waiting for Carlton to come up with a pick to satisfy them for midfielder Matt Kennedy.
The Blues don't have a second-round draft pick but could secure a selection in GWS' asking range as part of the mooted Bryce Gibbs deal with Adelaide.
"Hopefully that will get done," Cameron said of Kennedy's trade.
"We'd like something under (pick) 30 in the second round."
GWS refused to trade Adam Tomlinson despite St Kilda's repeated enquiries, determined to keep a star-studded list together "to keep having a crack" at a maiden flag after two losing preliminary finals.
And the Giants might not be finished adding to their playing stocks before Thursday's 2pm (AEDT) trade deadline.
"There's another small thing on the go, but we haven't resolved that yet," Cameron said.
