GOLD Coast has vowed to achieve "the best deal" for departing Suns Harley Bennell and Charlie Dixon during the upcoming NAB AFL Trade Period.
Bennell has been placed on the trade table following a series of well-documented off-field disciplinary breaches over his 81-game career, while Dixon has requested a trade to Port Adelaide.
The club's recruiting manager Scott Clayton said the Suns would ensure they received an optimum trade return for the departing duo.
"In both scenarios, we will do the best deal we possibly can for the Gold Coast Football Club," Clayton told the club's website.
"From a list perspective, any club can make easy decisions, we've made the hard, yet the right decisions that will shape our football club.
"And importantly, our players stood with us as we made the tough list management decisions for future success."
The Suns parted ways with Bennell early last month after he was charged with disorderly behaviour following an alleged argument with a bouncer outside a Surfers Paradise nightspot.
In July, Bennell was pictured in News Corp newspapers allegedly snorting illegal substances in a Tasmanian hotel room, which resulted in a three-game suspension, a $5000 fine and forced the midfielder to undergo a welfare program.
In May, the 23-year-old was one of four Suns demoted to the NEAFL for one game ahead of the Suns' round six match against Adelaide after breaching player-imposed alcohol rules.
Dixon, meanwhile, was slapped with a one-game ban after breaking the club's zero-tolerance alcohol policy the night before the Suns' round nine clash against Hawthorn.
The 25-year-old played 65 games and kicked 94 goals for the Suns since making his debut in round two, 2011.
