SUMMARY
The Sydney Swans were left smarting after their narrow four-point loss to the Western Bulldogs last weekend. Poor execution cost them at crucial points of the game and the Swans' experienced players will be looking to atone during the 'Pink Lady' match at the MCG on Saturday night. The Demons enter phase two of their duels against the competition's powerhouses after being smashed by 68 points against Fremantle last Sunday. With the Hawks to complete the trifecta next week, Melbourne will be out to be competitive against another of last year's Grand Finalists. The Demons lost their way against the Dockers, so coach Paul Roos will be looking to see which of his players will respond against the Swans.

THE SIX POINTS
1. The Swans continue to be the number one clearance team in the competition in 2015, averaging 47.2 per game. Melbourne, on the other hand, is ranked 11th with an average of 37.2.

2. Melbourne has only one win from its past nine games against the Swans dating back to 2007, which includes a draw in the opening round of 2011.

3. The Demons are the last-ranked team in the AFL in 2015 for disposals, averaging 320.2 per game. The Swans are ranked fourth in the category with 385 per game.

4. The teams have played 92 times at the MCG with 49 wins to 41 in the Demons' favour, with two draws.

5. Melbourne has the worst disposal efficiency of any team so far in 2015, operating at 68.6 per cent. The Swans come in at 13th at 70.8 per cent.

6. The Swans have two players ranked inside the top 10 of the Official AFL Player Ratings – Lance Franklin (eighth) and Josh Kennedy (ninth). Melbourne's top ranked player is captain Nathan Jones (95th).

IT'S A BIG WEEK FOR …
Tom McDonald. The Melbourne defender is one of the most improved players in the AFL in 2015, quite rightly placing himself in All Australian contention. However, containing Sydney Swans spearhead Lance Franklin is an entirely different proposition. Franklin has kicked 16 goals in five games this season and looks ready to explode and kick a bag in the next few weeks. The 22-year-old will have to be at the top of his game to stop the Buddy juggernaut.

PREDICTION: Sydney Swans by 38 points
