PROMISING St Kilda wingman Ed Phillips has signed a two-year deal, committing himself to the club until the end of 2020.
Meanwhile, AFL.com.au understands defender Nathan Brown has also inked a new contract to keep him at the Saints for next season.
Phillips was drafted at No.56 in 2016 and despite not playing in his first year, has impressed as a hard runner in his seven games.
In time trials conducted pre-season, Phillips has proven the closest challenger to captain Jarryn Geary.
The 20-year-old has also spent time at half-back at VFL level, with his 187cm frame allowing him to mark overhead.
He has averaged 19 disposals per match in 2018.
Phillips' brother Tom plays for Collingwood.
Meanwhile, Brown will extend his stay at St Kilda to a third year after arriving as a restricted free agent following 10 seasons at the Magpies.
The 29-year-old finished 10th in the Trevor Barker Award last season and would have been on track to produce a similar finish if not for injuries to his right knee and left hamstring that have forced him to miss five games.
Having joined the Saints as a restricted free agent, he has offered leadership and defensive stability down back, taking up a lockdown role to free Jake Carlisle as a intercepting defender.
Brown was originally drafted at No.10 in 2006 and was part of the Pies' premiership side in 2010 that defeated St Kilda for the flag.
