RICHMOND star Josh Caddy has escaped suspension for a stomp on Hawthorn stopper Daniel Howe's right hand in the second quarter of Thursday night's qualifying final at the MCG.
Caddy was fined a total of $3000 for two separate incidents against Howe, with the other a headlock on Howe with his legs.

The headlock, also in the second term, was sparked by the Hawk dragging Caddy down.

Several other matters were also analysed by Match Review Officer Michael Christian with Alex Rance cleared of any wrongdoing for his part in a scuffle with Paul Puopolo.
Christian decided Rance was trying to push Puopolo off him in the second quarter.
It was judged to be a reasonable action in the circumstances.
In that same tussle, Puopolo used a forearm to make contact with Rance's neck/face area, but below the force required to constitute a charge being laid.

Richmond captain Trent Cotchin was assessed for high contact on Shaun Burgoyne, but Christian decided the 2012 Brownlow medallist was making a legitimate attempt for the football.
Meanwhile, Hawks skipper Jarryd Roughead was looked at for high contact on Reece Conca in the second term.
The judgement there was Roughead braced for contact, rather than elected to bump, and he was cleared.
Also in the second quarter, contact made by triple Coleman medallist Jack Riewoldt on James Sicily was made by an open hand, and was not considered a clear striking action.
