SYDNEY speedster Gary Rohan is set to consider a move back to Victoria next season, but not until after the Swan's NEAFL Grand Final on Sunday.

AFL.com.au understands the former Geelong Falcon from Cobden is open to a move to be closer to family and friends, with Geelong and North Melbourne flagging early interest.

Contracted until the end of 2020, any move for Rohan would need to be agreed with the Swans by trade.

Rohan, 27, has played the past four matches in the NEAFL side, including kicking three goals on Saturday as the Swans progressed to the decider.

But Rohan will be ineligible to play in the Grand Final, because he's played too many AFL games and the season is over for the senior team. 

Rohan has endured an incredibly difficult 2018 after he and wife Amie tragically said goodbye to daughter Willow just hours after she was born in April. 

While Sydney will meet with midfielder Dan Hannebery in coming days to discuss his future as he contemplates an offer from St Kilda, Rohan will sit down with Swans officials next week.

In what shapes as a busy off-season, the Swans are also yet to lock away half-back Jake Lloyd who is being targeted by Gold Coast under former Sydney assistant Stuart Dew.

Geelong has actively pursued home-grown talent in recent years in an attempt to keep its premiership window open. 

With Western Bulldog, and Rohan's former Falcons teammate, Luke Dahlhaus set to arrive as a free agent in October, the Cats continue to consider their list position after an elimination final exit.

Geelong head of football Simon Lloyd told AFL.com.au on Monday list management meetings remained ongoing "every second day."

North Melbourne has made no secret of its attempt to secure fresh talent to boost its push back into the top eight.

The Roos are courting West Coast's Andrew Gaff and Port Adelaide's Jared Polec with long-term offers.

"We'd love to bring another midfielder in, or two," coach Brad Scott told SEN on Monday.

"We're still in a good position with the young players we've got coming through, but we'd certainly like to add a few."

Rohan, the No.6 pick in the 2009 NAB AFL Draft, has played 106 AFL games in nine years at the Swans, including 11 in 2018.
