PORT Adelaide will alter the way it plays to accommodate West Coast premiership ruckman Scott Lycett lining up alongside All Australian big man Paddy Ryder.
The duo will share the ruck duties while also providing a presence up forward after the Power officially secured Lycett on a five-year deal when the Eagles declined to match the restricted free agent's offer on Tuesday.

The move provides valuable support for Ryder, who has carried the ruck work on his own for the past two seasons and was hampered with an Achilles injury this year.
Having Ryder or Lycett as a tall forward will also help key target Charlie Dixon.

"It's going to necessitate a need for Ken and our coaching group to rethink the way that we play the game," the Power's general manager of football Chris Davies told NAB AFL Trade Radio.
"Clearly having Lycett and Ryder is going to provide us with two, high-quality ruckmen, and they're both guys that can play forward as well.
"I imagine that they will mix and match in the ruck and also playing forward."
Lycett is a Port Adelaide junior who the Power have followed closely during his career with the Eagles.
"We had a crack at him a few years ago, he decided to re-sign at West Coast at the time," Davies said.
"A lot of these things are about timing as well, who is available at any one, particular point.
"We would've liked to have brought a ruckman in last year, timing wasn't to be and we're pleased Scott will be with our club for next year.
"When Paddy wasn't up and about (this) year, we tended to struggle, so we think we've addressed that need and we'll now look throughout the rest of the Trade Period to see what we can get in to improve other areas."
The Power's next move will be securing a deal with North Melbourne for winger Jared Polec, with the Kangaroos' first-round pick, No.11 overall, likely to be included.
Forward/midfielder Chad Wingard is expected to remain at the Power next year despite interest from several clubs, including the Western Bulldogs.

"I know a number of clubs have expressed an interest, but none of those have been compelling enough for us to change our mind, or certainly, and this is the first cab off the rank, for Chad to suggest he wants to go," Davies said.
"Chad doesn't need to tell us that he's staying, he's contracted for 2019.
"If Chad wanted to leave, then that's the conversation we would be having, but right now, there's no conversation we've had with Chad or his management that suggests he definitely wants out.
"Right now, we're planning for Chad to be at our footy club in 2019."
