DELISTED Hawk Brendan Whitecross is keen to play on next season should a lifeline from another club gets thrown his way.
Hawthorn announced on Monday Whitecross, 28, and young midfielder Kieran Lovell would not be offered contracts for the 2019 season.
Whitecross will learn more about his future ahead of the October 31 list lodgment deadline on Wednesday and over the coming days.

"There's a couple of clubs that I think could be a good fit but over the next couple of days I'll just sit tight and let my manager do his thing and see what eventuates," Whitecross told Macquarie Sports Radio.
"My priority, at this point in time, is to still play AFL footy because I still think I've got a lot to offer not only on the field but off the field with the leadership and cultural aspect of my game so who knows, let's wait to see what happens."
Whitecross played 111 games for Hawthorn, but only 27 in the past five seasons, and missed out on playing in the club's four flags in his time, largely because of two knee reconstructions.
"I'm in good spirits. One door closes and another one hopefully opens," Whitecross said.
"Over the next week or so, I should find out where I sit. Hopefully by then I'll know a little bit more and get an idea about who might be interested if any."

He also said he'd be happy to move interstate and is prepared for whatever comes up.
Whitecross finished his career in brown and gold with a VFL premiership flag and said the experience he gained out of working with young players had piqued his coaching interest.
However, he is adamant he wants to explore avenues when it comes to playing first.
"The coaching isn't something that I had considered in the past, but after the last 12 months it's certainly something that I'm going to look into if all else fails," Whitecross said.
"The enjoyment I got out of helping younger guys this year was something I really loved."
