IN 2019, a number of AFL fan bases will have one team to support and one team to support against.
Following the introduction of future pick trading in 2015, clubs have had the ability to leave a rival with their future selection heading into the following season.
FULL FIXTURE Every round, every game
Now with the added element of live trading during the NAB AFL Draft, some fans will be left either pulling their hair out of praising their club's recruiting team's decisions.
While every game matters, some others will mean just that little bit more next season.
Carlton v Adelaide, round 19, MCG
The ultimate eight-point game.
Don't expect Don Pyke to be resting any players for this trip to Melbourne, with the Crows holding the Blues' first-round pick for 2019.
A big win on the road for Adelaide could compound the Blues to a fifth consecutive bottom-five finish, which would leave the Crows with a top-five pick.
Throw in the additional second-round pick the Crows acquired on Friday from Greater Western Sydney (via Carlton for the Will Setterfield deal) and this match will be already circled on the whiteboard at West Lakes.
BLUES-CROWS BOMBSHELL Will the gamble pay off?
On the other hand, the Blues will be out to ensure the Crows miss the eight for a second consecutive year.
Not only did they gain pick 19 (Liam Stocker), the Blues landed the Crows' first-round pick in the swap.
It continues a love-hate trade relationship for the Blues and Crows after the Bryce Gibbs transaction took two years, before a move for Mitch McGovern to IKON Park.
A Stocker-Gibbs match-up would be the icing on the cake.
Sydney v West Coast, round 12, SCG
It was the deal that raised eyebrows in the early stages on Thursday with Sydney making the most of an apparent loophole in exchange with West Coast.
The Eagles gave up four spots for this year's draft, but were able to get hold of Sydney's future second-round pick while giving up a future third-round.
It means when they meet in round 12, the Eagles will be looking to knock the Swans down the ladder.
While both teams will be hoping to contend for the top-eight by round 12 next year, a Swans finish in the lower end of the top eight will give the Eagles a pick in the range of 28-30.
Brisbane v Collingwood, round five, the Gabba
The Lions will be desperate to bring down Dayne Beams in his first match against his old side, but just as desperate to hand the Magpies a loss.
In letting Beams walk, the Lions not only picked up a first-round pick this year (Ely Smith, pick 21), but grabbed the Pies' first pick next year.
Greater Western Sydney v Essendon, round one, the Showgrounds
Essendon v Greater Western Sydney, round 15, MCG
If the Bombers miss the top eight again, the Giants will be staring at a top-10 selection after picking up the Bombers' first pick in the trade for Dylan Shiel.
It's a pick they fought for on the last day and ultimately landed.
WHO MAKES FINALS? Do the 2019 Ladder Predictor
While the Bombers got back the Giants' second-round pick, Leon Cameron will have extra incentive in these two encounters.
St Kilda v Sydney, round 23, SCG
The Saints' season could be well over by the final home-and-away match of 2019, but it won't matter to the Swans.
As Dan Hannebery walked to Moorabbin, the Swans were able to secure a second-round pick, which will be pick 21 if the Saints finish 16th again.
Gold Coast v Brisbane, round six, Metricon Stadium
Brisbane v Gold Coast, round 21, the Gabba
If Brisbane finishes 15th again next season, the Suns will walk into the 2019 NAB AFL Draft with pick four.
As part of an anonymous pick swap on a frenetic final day of the NAB AFL Trade Period, the Lions grabbed pick 19, a future second-round pick and a future third-round pick in return for their first selection next year.
