PRIZED Brisbane recruit Lachie Neale has lauded the "selfless" Lions midfield that has allowed him to fit in so quickly at his new home.
Neale was the best player afield in Sunday's JLT Series opener against Hawthorn, collecting 31 disposals and 10 clearances in the 42-point win.
His combination with ruckman Archie Smith and fellow newbie Jarryd Lyons was first class.
After leaving a Fremantle midfield that contained superstar Nat Fyfe, and essentially taking over the role vacated by Dayne Beams, Neale was effusive in his praise for his new teammates.

"It's a really selfless group and I think everyone works for one," Neale said.
"Whoever gets it, it doesn't matter.
"It's a pretty selfless group.
There's not one bloke trying to run the show and be the man in there.
"It's a pretty even spread.
"Guys want to work for each other."
In the humid and slippery conditions, Neale showed off his clean hands in close, helping the Lions to a 42-36 clearance advantage.
