Based on the available evidence, the incident was referred directly with the Tribunal and Thomas is not able to accept an early plea.
Incidents assessed:
Contact between GWS GIANTS’ Shane Mumford and Carlton’s Marc Murphy in the first quarter of Sunday’s match was assessed. Murphy has the football and attempts to handball to a teammate. Mumford approaches from side on to apply pressure and contact is made with Mumford’s upper right thigh into Murphy’s midriff. Simultaneously, Josh Kelly makes contact to Murphy’s midriff from the opposite side. It was the view of the MRO that Mumford’s actions were not unreasonably in the circumstances. No further action was taken.
The match day report laid against Port Adelaide’s Tom Rockliff for contact on Gold Coast SUNS’ Anthony Miles from the second quarter of Sunday’s match was assessed. Miles takes possession of the football and looks to evade Rockliff. Rockliff moves his left foot to intercept the player. Miles is consequently tripped. It was the view of the MRO there was insufficient force to constitute a reportable offence. No further was taken.

Elliot Yeo, West Coast Eagles, has been charged with Misconduct against James Harmes, Melbourne during the fourth quarter of the Round Nine match between the West Coast Eagles and Melbourne, played at Optus Stadium on Friday May 17.
