LEON Cameron has hailed the leadership of his experienced core of players after Greater Western Sydney's 83-point thrashing of Gold Coast on Saturday.
A week after the Giants gave up seven last-quarter goals in their important win over Melbourne at the MCG, they piled on nine in the final term against the hapless Suns in a powerful display at Giants Stadium.
Challenged by the visitors in the first quarter, especially around the footy where they lost the contested possession count and the stoppage clearances, the Giants eventually gained control of the match.

Cameron said he made no mention of last week's fadeout against the Demons, but his leaders did.
"Our captain Phil Davis, Stephen Coniglio and Josh Kelly really drove that when I left the huddle," he said post-match.
"They're a proud group and everyone wants to play the perfect game.
"By no means were we perfect today but I think they were looking forward to righting the wrongs of last week if that makes sense and finishing off in that manner.
"It was a bonus that we hit the scoreboard because I thought our contested ball in the last quarter was really pleasing after being touched up in the first quarter in that statistic.
"Our offence kicked into gear a little bit better and we got some flow, so to walk away with a really powerful last quarter was pleasing."
The Giants' leaders not only talked the talk at the last change, they backed up their words on the field where it counted.
Coniglio kicked three goals in the final-term onslaught, while Jeremy Cameron (two), Kelly, Brett Deledio and Matt de Boer also hit the scoreboard.

Apart from his goals, Coniglio added 36 possessions, 13 marks, eight tackles and eight inside 50s, while Kelly also had 36 touches, as well as six tackles and five clearances.
Cameron said it was pleasing to have his elite midfielders in form and healthy after Coniglio (finger) and Kelly (groin) both faced their own injury issues earlier this season.

"Cogs has been dealing with that finger but that's just about fixed now which is great, and he a knock on his knee last week which hurt him a little bit," he said.
"Josh had a slower start to the year with his groin but he's starting to find some rhythm now.
"It's pleasing to have them up around the footy and playing that brand."
Lachie Whitfield (shoulder) and Toby Greene (knee) both finished the Suns win on the bench but Cameron is confident both will be fit to face Adelaide on the road next week.
