STUART Dew says adding experience to Gold Coast's list is an off-season priority, whether that's Hawthorn champion Shaun Burgoyne or somebody else.
After Suns list manager Craig Cameron was quoted in News Corp papers on Thursday morning as having an interest in Burgoyne, Dew said "getting experience in the door" was even more crucial than acquiring top-end talent.

"Every club gets access to that (high-end) talent, so we don't need to go chasing it," Dew said.
"We'd like to get some experience in the door, but in the right way and the right type of characters.
"I think we took a step forward this year, that hasn't shown on the field but that's not their fault.
"We need to get our systems right and get continuity.
"Again, at the end of the year we're looking to bring some experience in, but we'll get picks like everyone else in the draft."
Gold Coast added a number of players from successful clubs during last off-season, including George Horlin-Smith and Jordan Murdoch from Geelong, Anthony Miles and Corey Ellis from Richmond, and Jack Hombsch from Port Adelaide.
When asked about the prospect of adding four-time premiership star Burgoyne, Dew was coy.
We don't just want to go and get who's played a lot of games, a lot more goes into our thinking than that - Stuart Dew
"Whether it's Shaun or other players, we're looking at different avenues in terms of what type of characters we want to bring into the footy club," he said.
"We don't just want to go and get who's played a lot of games, a lot more goes into our thinking than that and where they can have impact on and off the field.
"Shaun's name's been thrown up, but that's because he clearly fits the bill, every club knows that.
"We haven't even spoken to Shaun.
"There's a number of players out there, but that'll be a conversation for the end of the year.
"They've got to want to come here for the right motivation to have the impact we're after."
