Restricted free agents: Sam Jacobs
Unrestricted free agents: David Mackay, Cam Ellis-Yolmen (rookie), Paul Hunter (rookie)
State of play: Jacobs is set to leave the Crows after attracting interest from Greater Western Sydney and former club, Carlton. The 31-year-old ruckman has a one-year offer on the table from the Crows, but could get a two-year contract and more opportunity at the Giants. The Crows have yet to offer 220-game stalwart Mackay, 31, a contract for next year, while the future of Ellis-Yolmen, 26, is also up in the air. Ruckman Hunter, 26, is likely to be delisted after four years on the rookie list without a senior game. Veteran Richard Douglas has already been told he won't be getting a new contract, but is open to playing on elsewhere next season. - Lee Gaskin

Unrestricted free agents: Ryan Lester, Ryan Bastinac
State of play: The Lions have locked in much of their impressive young list for next year, and well beyond that, too. Lester has been out of the senior Lions team since round 17, and has managed only nine games this season. But he's a member of the club's leadership group and is expected to get another year there, particularly if Luke Hodge retires and another place in the Brisbane back half opens up. Things are more clouded for Bastinac, who has played only five games for the Lions in two years and could be forced out depending on moves in the trade period. Out-of-contract runner Tom Cutler continues to attract attention from Victorian clubs. - Callum Twomey

Unrestricted free agents: Levi Casboult, Josh Deluca
State of play: Casboult triggered a one-year extension in his contract after playing 30 games across the past two years, however he is still expected to look for more security before agreeing to exercise that clause. After perhaps his best season with the club in 2019, the Blues are hopeful he will extend his career at Ikon Park. Rookie forward Deluca played the final six games of the year after being recruited with the first pick in the NAB AFL Mid-Season Rookie Draft, with the expectation being that he will soon pen a rookie extension with the club. - Riley Beveridge

Unrestricted free agents: Ben Reid, Jamie Elliott, Lynden Dunn, Daniel Wells, Tim Broomhead, Sam Murray
State of play: Elliott is adding value to his contract with his strong late-season form, but Collingwood remains confident he will re-sign soon. It has big calls to make on three veterans – Reid, Dunn and Wells are all over 30 years of age, while they all have unreliable recent injury records. Broomhead has spent the entire season in the VFL, while a decision will need to be made on Murray – who is available to play next year after missing the last 18 months due to a doping ban. - Riley Beveridge

Unrestricted free agents: Zac Clarke, Michael Hartley, Mitch Brown, Will Snelling
State of play: After playing 16 games for the Bombers this season, including their final against West Coast, Brown is likely to play on, in what would be expected to be a one-year deal for the forward. He turns 30 next year. Hartley has been on the outer and is in the logjam of key defenders at Essendon so is gettable and will have some interest as a versatile tall, while Snelling is set to stay on with the Bombers after being a successful addition through the mid-season draft. He booted two goals in last week's elimination final defeat. - Callum Twomey

State of play: The Dockers have made calls on the five players named on the AFL's last free agency list. They have re-signed wingman Stephen Hill and veteran midfielder David Mundy, while they have said goodbye to club greats Aaron Sandilands and Hayden Ballantyne. Young rookie Ryan Nyhuis was also delisted, leaving the club with no free agency decisions left to make ahead of October's exchange period. - Riley Beveridge

Unrestricted free agents: Harry Taylor, Scott Selwood
State of play: Taylor is in two minds about whether to play on, with a decision to come at season's end. Selwood remains unsigned beyond this year after falling down the pecking order in the midfield. Small defender Jed Bews had spent the season on the free agency list but has recently come off after recommitting to the club. The Cats' decision to chase North Melbourne free agent Todd Goldstein will only intensify after refusing to play a genuine No.1 ruckman against Collingwood in Friday night's qualifying final loss. The Cats are also keeping a close eye on Shaun Higgins' push for a new deal beyond his 2020 contract at Arden Street. - Mitch Cleary

Unrestricted free agents: Tom Nicholls, Harrison Wigg, Nick Holman
State of play: Nicholls hasn't played a senior game for three seasons with the Suns, but wasn't part of the club's first batch of delistings, which was announced last week and saw Jack Leslie, Connor Nutting and Brad Scheer all cut. Holman appears likely to earn a fresh deal while Wigg, who missed this season with a knee injury, faces a wait to find out about his future. The Suns will be hoping to maximise the loss of pair Jack Martin and Callum Ah Chee, who have both requested trades out of the Suns in next month's exchange period. - Callum Twomey

Unrestricted free agents: Adam Tomlinson, Matthew Buntine, Lachlan Keefe, Tom Sheridan, Dylan Buckley
State of play: Having recently re-signed restricted free agent Stephen Coniglio, all eyes are on Tomlinson here. The versatile Giant was dropped last week for the club's elimination final against the Bulldogs, having played every game the past two seasons. St Kilda has long been interested in the defender/wingman, having missed out on him two years ago, but Melbourne is also keen. The Giants would likely receive solid compensation for Tomlinson if he is to take up an offer from a Victorian club. Buntine is probably the Giants' next priority, while the Sam Reid story will roll into 2020 after signing a new deal in July. - Callum Twomey

Unrestricted free agents: Grant Birchall, Shaun Burgoyne, Paul Puopolo, Ryan Schoenmakers, Ricky Henderson, Darren Minchington, Tim Mohr
State of play: Jonathon Ceglar's re-signing took another name off what is still a lengthy list for the Hawks. The futures for several of them are dependent on players who might come in or decisions their teammates make, including Burgoyne. Burgoyne will play on in 2020, but is at least considering the Suns – and travelled up to the Gold Coast last week. Birchall remains in discussions for next year and might have to wait a bit longer, but his future should be determined before the Trade Period begins. Henderson will get another season, but Schoenmakers and Mohr are unlikely to continue. It's still unclear what will happen with Puopolo and Minchington, who was close to a senior call-up late in the season before another hamstring setback. - Marc McGowan

State of play: The Demons haven't announced it but Corey Wagner has re-signed for another year, in a bid to prove he can be a long-term player at the club. The ex-Roo and pre-season supplemental selection period signee made 11 senior appearances in his first season in red and blue. Co-captain Nathan Jones was also a free agent and was locked away on a new one-year contract last week. As for potential incomings, the link between Melbourne and Giants unrestricted free agent Adam Tomlinson has strengthened in recent weeks to the point industry sources believe he is certain to become a Demon. - Marc McGowan

Unrestricted free agents: Todd Goldstein
State of play: The Kangaroos rapidly got moving on their re-signings and delistings once Brady Rawlings was appointed as football boss, even though he technically isn't supposed to start until December 1. Goldstein, the 2015 All Australian ruckman, is in the second tier of AFL big men, behind only Brodie Grundy and Max Gawn, and thus has attracted significant rival interest. St Kilda was the first to make a major but unsuccessful play for him, before Geelong swooped in late. It's understood Goldstein would ideally like a three-year deal, but North is willing to offer only two for the 31-year-old at this stage. – Marc McGowan

Unrestricted free agents: Matthew Broadbent, Trent McKenzie, Jack Trengove, Justin Westhoff, Cam Hewett (rookie), Cam Sutcliffe (rookie)
State of play: Westhoff is almost certain to play a 14th season at the Power and sign a one-year extension for 2020. Broadbent's future is up in the air. The 29-year-old running defender is yet to be offered a new contract. Played the last five games of the season after taking a break to deal with mental health issues. McKenzie may have earned himself another deal on the back of strong SANFL form in the past couple months. Sutcliffe is a strong chance to be retained after playing a variety of roles since being picked up in the NAB AFL Mid-Season Rookie Draft, while Trengove and Hewett are likely to be delisted. - Lee Gaskin

Restricted free agents: Brandon Ellis
Unrestricted free agents: Shane Edwards, Bachar Houli, Maverick Weller, Jacob Townsend
State of play: The Tigers are now resigned to losing Ellis after he put contract talks on hold until season's end. As a restricted free agent, the wingman falls in the Tigers' top 10 earners this year and would need to take a pay cut on any new deal to stay. Gold Coast is leading the race for his services. Houli has finally been offered a deal for 2020, while Edwards will remain a Tiger, with an announcement on his future imminent. Decisions on Weller and Townsend will be made in October. - Mitch Cleary

Restricted free agents: Jack Newnes
Unrestricted free agents: Nathan Brown
State of play: The Saints' two-year deal remains on the table for Newnes who is yet to provide an answer. The Swans registered some interest in him last year while he was under contract, but he has since been exploring the market and remains undecided. Brown continues to be in regular contact with the club with a call on his future to come after the Trade Period, depending on who lands at Moorabbin. The Saints had been keen on Giant free agent Adam Tomlinson, however rival clubs believe he will now land at Melbourne. Interest remains in trade targets Paddy Ryder, Bradley Hill, Alex Keath and Zak Jones. - Mitch Cleary

Unrestricted free agents: Daniel Menzel
State of play: Menzel is the last Swan standing as far as free agents go, with Harry Cunningham re-signing for three more seasons and veterans Jarrad McVeigh and Nick Smith retiring. The former Cats forward faces a nervous wait to see if his AFL career will be extended after playing only seven games in 2019. Menzel's future could depend on whether the rumblings about Joe Daniher – who is contracted until next year, when he would be a free agent – leaving Essendon for the Harbour City eventuate into something concrete. Either way, he would likely command a bargain-basement deal. - Marc McGowan

Unrestricted free agents: Chris Masten, Will Schofield, Fraser McInnes, Keegan Brooksby, Josh Smith
State of play: Premiership teammates Masten and Schofield remain out of contract with conversations on their status for 2020 to come at season's end. The pair were in the Eagles' side that beat Essendon on Thursday and could potentially be offered one-year deals but have been told they're free to look around. Mature-age additions Brooksby and Smith will have their futures decided in October, depending on what takes place in the Trade Period, while rookie big man McInnes will need to decide whether he wants to fight for another contract. Unrestricted free agents: Tory Dickson, Fletcher Roberts, Ryan Gardner, Roarke Smith
State of play: Veteran forward Dickson played a key role in an otherwise young Western Bulldogs attack this season and will be angling for a one-year extension. However, there are tough calls to be made on a host of other free agents. Premiership defender Roberts has played just four games in the past two years and is on the outer, while Smith has long had to wait until late in the year before earning a new deal. Gardner appears likely to earn a rookie extension, having been recruited in the NAB AFL Mid-Season Rookie Draft. - Riley Beveridge
