RICHMOND has received a further September boost by locking away exciting youngster Shai Bolton to a new two-year deal.
The deal was struck in recent days to keep the 20-year-old West Australian at Punt Road until at least the end of 2021.
Bolton had significant interest to return to his home state but has re-committed to the Tigers in a show of faith for their role in his maturity in recent seasons.
The speedster finds himself in Richmond's best 22 and again impressed in the Tigers' qualifying final win over Brisbane on Saturday.
He has played the last 10 matches consecutively which included a NAB AFL Rising Star nomination in round 17.
Bolton had to wait until October last year to sign a one-year deal after just three matches, asked to return with a stronger professionalism in 2019.
Hiring a personal trainer over the off-season in Perth, he has since played a career-best 17 matches this season and consistently kept premiership small forward Dan Butler out of the side.
Father-son Tiger Patrick Naish has also extended his contract, signing a two-year deal.
