SYDNEY Stack's outstanding debut season might have a remarkable ending.
The Richmond utility has been out of action since last month with an ankle injury that needed surgery, but has been named to play in Sunday's VFL Grand Final against Williamstown at Ikon Park despite the Tigers saying he was unavailable on their official injury list earlier this week.
Richmond has had 4 injury categories this year: available, probable, questionable & unavailable, with timeframes of test, short, medium and long-term. Not once has an “unavailable” player been named, until Sydney Stack was picked for Sunday’s VFL Grand Final. Impressive recovery. pic.twitter.com/izaIR5uV14

However he still needs to get through training on Friday before he is confirmed to make his return.

If Richmond wins through to the AFL Grand Final and Stack shows he is ready, then he could prove a massive selection story next week.
But coach Damien Hardwick does not want to look too far ahead.
"I think I will cross that bridge when I get to it," Hardwick said.
"He's a great player, he's a big-game player.
"But he's also coming off a pretty significant injury as well, so we'll cross our fingers and hope he gets through,
"If we get to make that decision it's a good one to make."

Stack, 19, has played 19 games and finished third in the NAB AFL Rising Star voting.
But he had been dropped to the VFL when he suffered his injury.
