DOUBT remains over Phil Davis' place in Greater Western Sydney's maiden Grand Final on Saturday as he continues to manage an ongoing calf injury.
After failing to train with teammates all week, the co-captain never broke out of a walk in the Giants' 45-minute captain’s run at the MCG on Friday.
Training in runners, Davis only completed stationary drills – including boxing with teammate Aidan Corr – in front of the 2000-strong crowd.

But, speaking after the session, Davis said he will be fit to take on Richmond.
"[I'm] feeling really good. It was obviously disappointing to not be able to play my role on the weekend but I've pulled up really well and I'm really looking forward to tomorrow afternoon," he said.
"Everyone's really excited, there's lots of smiles and the bus trips have been really good fun.
"I think we're just really excited and we understand it's an important occasion, it's a big deal, but we understand the basic fundamentals of football will take over."

Ruckman Shane Mumford was on limited duties but is in no doubt, while Lachie Whitfield trained fully and is expected to take his place after appendix surgery last week.
Davis injured his calf early in the Giants' preliminary final win over Collingwood last Saturday and has been reduced to swimming sessions and training indoors this week.

He was spotted with an ice pack on his right calf following open training on Tuesday – a session he didn't take part in.
Davis, Corr, Whitfield and Mumford have been named to face Richmond, with dumped pair Lachie Keeffe and Ian Hill emergencies alongside Zac Langdon and Isaac Cumming.

All four emergencies took part in the session on Friday before heading to the Grand Final parade in the city.
Davis said he had passed key fitness tests on Thursday that had cleared him to play, with a match-up against one of Tigers star pair Tom Lynch or Jack Riewoldt expected.
"I did some work yesterday and ticked all those boxes. I'm very confident, feeling really good and looking forward to tomorrow," Davis said.
Meanwhile, coach Leon Cameron said he would not have picked star Stephen Coniglio for the clash even if the gun midfielder had made himself available.
Coniglio, who has been out since round 17 with a knee injury, was pushing for a recall in the Giants' premiership decider, but ruled himself out earlier this week after not feeling up to playing a full game.
Cameron said he would likely have not been able to select Coniglio based on what he had seen at training.
"Probably not," Cameron said when asked if he would have picked the vice-captain.
"It was a hard decision but in the end it made it easier for me because he came off the track and he knew he wasn't right. Add another week and he probably plays.
"But he's had a big six weeks committing to our club for seven years, which is a great decision for us, and then he had to make that decision so that's the sort of person he is."
