GREATER Western Sydney and St Kilda have completed a pick swap that could enable the Giants to skip ahead of a bid on Academy jet Tom Green during next month's NAB AFL Draft.
The Giants parted with picks No.12 and No.18 to secure pick No.6 from the Saints, also receiving pick No.59 as part of the deal completed on Thursday afternoon.
It leaves the club with a number of options in an effort to jump a bid on the highly coveted Green, who is a big-bodied midfielder in the mould of Carlton skipper Patrick Cripps.
It can either remain where it is and hope that Green doesn't attract a bid inside the top five of the draft, or negotiate further with clubs higher in the order to jump up again.
The trade will also have ramifications on St Kilda's bid to secure Fremantle midfielder Bradley Hill, with the Dockers after two first-round draft picks for the wantaway speedster.

The Saints now have picks No.12 and No.18 to negotiate a trade for Hill.
In terms of the Draft Value Index (DVI) the Saints are the big winners with their two picks totaling 2253 points, while the Giants' two picks are worth 1909 points.
"This deal strengthens our draft hand by giving us a high first-round selection," Giants footy boss Wayne Campbell said upon completion of the trade.

"It will allow us to bring in a quality talent that will complement our list, while the early fourth round pick gives us additional flexibility across our draft hand.
"We will continue to look to strengthen our playing list and draft hand over the remainder of the Trade Period."
