Other matters assessed:

The ball was bounced with Masten and Armitage coming to a loose ball from opposite directions. Masten begins to bend down to collect the ball while Armitage simultaneously seeks to contest the ball. Armitage runs front-on into Masten with his chest and a free kick is paid for the high contact made to the West Coast player. It was the view of the panel that Armitage was trying to contest the ball and no further action was taken.
Contact between Hawthorn’s Jarryd Roughead and the Sydney Swans' Rhyce Shaw from the first quarter of Saturday’s match was assessed. Hawthorn’s Cyril Rioli has the ball upfield and Roughead is calling for the ball and preparing to lead for his teammate. Roughead is leading into the path of his opponent Shaw but Rioli does not kick the ball, after being tackled. Roughead lays a block for his teammate Will Langford on Shaw as the ball is loose and it was the view of the panel that while the block may have drawn a free kick for the Sydney player, the contact was not excessive in the circumstances and was below the force required for a reportable offence.
