CONTROVERSIAL sports scientist Stephen Dank will contest the guilty findings and resultant life ban imposed by the AFL Anti-Doping Tribunal for his role in the Essendon supplements scandal.
Dank told AFL general counsel Andrew Dillon on Monday of his decision to contest the findings.
The appeal is set to be heard by the AFL's Appeal Board in August.
Dank was found guilty of 10 breaches of the AFL's anti-doping code in April this year.
These included "trafficking, attempting to traffic and complicity in matters related to a range of prohibited substances".
The substances included Hexarelin, Humanofort, CJC-1295, GHRP6 and SARSM.
He was cleared of 24 other charges.
