RECRUITERS will get a closer look at next year's talent pool from Monday when the NAB AFL Academy squad members start two-week training stints at AFL clubs across the country.
The club placements have been an integral part of the academy's program and this year take on a new twist, with prospects to spend two weeks at a club training and being immersed in an AFL environment.
Draft slider a perfect fit for Lions
Last year's academy group trained at two separate clubs for a week each time, with this year's plan for them to spend more time at one club to fully integrate into the AFL program.
Greater Western Sydney and West Coast will host the most players across the fortnight, with both clubs having four members of the academy train there.
The Giants, fresh from selecting four zone academy prospects at last month's NAB AFL Draft, have another impressive batch of New South Wales/ACT talent coming through, including highly-rated tall Harrison Macreadie.
Small forwards Ben Ainsworth and Jy Simpkin, already earmarked as two of the most talented prospects for next year, will train with the Demons, while West Australian midfielder Sam Petrevski-Seton will do his club experience with Fremantle.
Midfielder Jonty Scharenberg, the younger brother of Collingwood's Matt, will be one of three South Australians training at the Crows.
The Brisbane Lions (Jacob Allison and Jack Rolls) and Gold Coast (Jack Bowes and Brad Scheer) will also have their local academy prospects for 2016 train at the club in the next two weeks.

The NAB AFL Academy's week-long camp ended in Melbourne last week, with the stint at AFL clubs coming ahead of the group's two-week high performance training tour of America in January.
The 33 players will head to Florida on January 12 and train at the IMG Academy in Sarasota for eight days before finishing their trip in Los Angeles.
Academy head coach Brenton Sanderson will join the level two tour for the first time, having been appointed to the position midway through last year's trip.
