ONE OF the game's most experienced recruiters is set to take control of North Melbourne's list direction.

AFL.com.au understands Scott Clayton will take over as the Kangaroos' head of player personnel. 

New North list boss Glenn Luff and national recruiting manager Mark Finnigan will answer to Clayton.

It is believed Clayton has informed his current club West Coast of his new position and an announcement is imminent on his next career move.

The talent-spotter previously worked at Brisbane – the Bears and Lions – Gold Coast and the Western Bulldogs before joining the Eagles ahead of the 2018 season.

There's been major change at Arden Street this year, including a new head coach (Rhyce Shaw), football boss (Brady Rawlings), chief executive (Ben Amarfio) and list manager (Luff). 

Jade Rawlings, Jared Rivers, Leigh Adams and Heath Scotland have also come on board as assistant coaches, while Brendan Whitecross (forward line) and Gavin Brown (head of development) stepped into new roles.
