RICHMOND superstar Dustin Martin is the first player Victoria coach Damien Hardwick has selected for State of Origin match for bushfire relief.

The news comes as the AFL unveiled both teams' coaching panels, with Hardwick and All-Stars coach John Longmire flanked by some of the games best minds.

Four-time premiership coach Alastair Clarkson, Richmond assistant Adam Kingsley, Gold Coast assistant Dean Solomon and Collingwood assistant Robert Harvey will join Hardwick's Victorian coaching panel.


Gold Coast senior coach Stuart Dew, Port Adelaide assistant Michael Voss, GWS assistant Mark McVeigh, Western Bulldogs assistant Joel Corey and Sydney Assistant Dean Cox head up the All-Stars coaches box.

AFL general manager of football Steve Hocking said the depth of experience in each coaching box showcases the passion and enthusiasm from all clubs to get behind a worth cause.

"Since we announced the event, the buy in from the clubs, players and coaches, from both the AFLW and AFL competitions, has been exceptional," Hocking said.

"We are coming together for an important event and raise valuable funds, and I know that when the ball is bounced the competitive juices of these coaches will kick in and we will get a great contest."

The rest of the players will be announced on Tuesday 18 February at 12pm AEDT exclusively on AFL.com.au and the AFL Live Official App.

The event will be a double-header on February 28 at Marvel Stadium, starting with Collingwood v Melbourne in a NAB AFL Women's match, followed by the State of Origin Match.
